I hate to break it to you but hot showers make it worse. I used soothies by lansinoh gel pads. They are amazing! The only thing that helped or put disposable breast pads and soak in water and put in freezer.
Don't use cabbage leaves!!!! They're used to help dry up your supply! If ur bfding just try expressing the extra til it's comfortable again then use the soothing pads etc to make them feel better x
Cabbage leaves is to dry up! Not help relieve during nursing!!! Be careful!!! Use warm towels on your breasts before you pump to relax them and help ease your let down.
If she's pumping for 30 minutes on both breasts she could be over pumping and if the baby isn't hungry enough to compensate she'll over produce and be stuck with extra milk, mind you lasts longer in the freezer but looses certain nutritional values when frozen. Don't over pump it'll make your situation worse.
With both pregnancies when breast feeding after I would take a hot shower and lean forward and gently massage the breasts to expel the extra milk. It worked like a charm and relived to much pressure and tenderness

So I took a hour shower and it felt better until I got out :(
I hate the thought of wasting milk, but self-expressing in the shower makes them feel soo much better.

I had to get a pump because I was making so much milk and they hurt so bad. Best thing I've ever done!!

Are you breast feeding or trying to dry up?

The best thing ever. Wet some disposable nappies then put them in the freezer for an hour. Cooling and they fit perfectly. My nurse recommended it.

You should be pumping for at least 30 min both breasts.

warm up a towel or two washclothes, and lay them on your chest. gently massage.
that helped me

I found that a tighter sports bra helped and those ice pack pad things they give you in the sports bra! A hot shower helps with the let down pain :)
