Lol when we told our father in law the boy name we had picked if our first was a boy he told us he hated it. I personally think he's just biased against the name. Before he and my MIL met she had a son named Michael. He died as a young child. My husband wanted to use the name if we had a boy as a tribute to his older half brother. I always loved the name anyway so I was on board. I think my FIL just hates the name because Michael wasn't his son. I personally think he is happy we had a girl and I'm pregnant with another girl. Means we won't be using the name since we only want 2.

I'm not offended, I actually thought it was hilarious because my husband and I hate the name she has picked out for a girl. It was just a super random comment out of the blue, no segue at all. It certainly doesn't change my opinion on the name... we'll still be naming our daughter that if we ever have one.

Eh, just reply with something like "Oh really? That's lovely to know. You've totally changed my outlook on life with your extremely important opinion! Don't worry though. When we decide on another child and if we have a girl that name will still be the name we choose."

SO asked his sister what she thought of a boy name we considered and she said "sounds like a dogs name. Gross"
