Husband's Job
So, my husband just got a call this morning that he lost his job. He's our sole provider, basically (I work very part time), so I should be upset, but mostly I'm just relieved. He's been there for 3 years, and the past year or so has been hell. The owner basically lets the GM do whatever he wants and the GM has proven over and over he has no respect for my husband. My husband has been so miserable with work that it's been seeping into his personal life, to a point where people who rarely see him and/or don't know him well have made comments about how unhappy he seems. It breaks my heart, and I've been trying to convince him for months that it's time to move on. He's the type of person who is terrified of change and would rather stay miserable knowing he can support us than take a chance somewhere else. At my insistence, he halfheartedly applied for some jobs over the past month or so, but I knew he would never be serious about it. He was never going to quit this job of his own accord, so even though this will put us in a sticky situation, financially, for a while I'm honestly relieved. I can tell he is too. He was worked up and upset for all of 5 minutes, and now he looks like a weight has physically been lifted from him.
??Update??
Thank you for all the prayers and positive thoughts, ladies! They worked!
My husband went to drop off his resume at a local company, yesterday, and was immediately asked to sit down for an interview. The owner had actually tried contacting him last year, as we have a mutual friend, but my husband wasn't interested at the time. He just got the call today: he has the job! It'll be salary and commission based like his previous job, but he was offered a higher base salary, and, based on the amount of work this company does, his commission should also be significantly higher. On top of that, it's located in our town instead of over a half hour away like his previous job. The office is literally less than 5 minutes from our house! I'm so ridiculously proud of him :)
Thanks ladies! I'm definitely viewing it as a blessing, even if it makes things tough for a while. I don't think we even realized how bad it really was until this happened. Last night and this morning is the first time we've actually legitimately laughed and smiled together in months. I didn't even realize how uptight and and on eggshells we were around each other until we weren't. The timing of it actually works well because we have some money coming in from an insurance claim and a mistake on his taxes from a couple years ago. It'll be enough to keep us afloat for a couple months if need be. It was a definite shock, but it's going to be a good thing for our family.
Maybe 4 weeks after we found out I was pregnant, this happened to my husband. Same situation where he was miserable in his position, but terrified of change. He was able to find a new job with comparable pay for 1/10th the stress. It ended up working out better for us in the end and will for y'all too. If he was that miserable, this could be a blessing in disguise because now he has to look for something better.
Sorry about your husband's job loss but in the long term it's probably for the best. When a job robs you of your physical, mental, and/or emotional health it's just not worth it. Hopefully you guys can regroup and your hubby can find something that's not a drain on him emotionally.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Ok, so my friend is wanting to get pregnant but..... Her fiancé does not want kids, at lease for another 3-5 years he said... so she came up with the idea to have me pee on a stick for her and show it to him so that he’ll be comfortable with not wearing a condom and finishing in her.. basically the whole idea is to make him think she’s pregnant already...... so I do this favor for her or should I tell my girl to chill?
He and my husband are friends through us and he’s going to invite him over...
I’ve likely been exposed to the corona virus. My coworker has been at work all week while her husband was at home waiting for his test results to come back. He tested positive.
What a great update! Congrats to your family!
