Snakes definitely kill people maybe they can't swallow every person they choke the life out of, But they will definitely try. Moral of the story is squirrels are harmless boa constrictors are not and should not just be hanging out on fences.

Fun fact they can't actually swallow humans as our skills are too round to get a grip on. Morbid I know, but interesting all the same.

From his markings I think Boa. Looks about the right size too. Lots get them as pets and let them go. Unless its winter the can adapt pretty quickly. If i found one depending on size get it and keep it. Lol. But really I would call wild life and have it removed and hopfully placed in a sanctuary.

It's hard to say from just the tail. It's not a rattler or copperhead. Can you describe it? It looks big. Was it long? Did you see the head? Are you in the US? If so, what part?
