Are men really better cooks?
Men are the best cooks, because with two eggs, one sausage, and a little bit of milk, he can fill a girl’s tummy for nine months.
Dh is good at grilling and that's about it lol. He does not enter my kitchen lol. If it were up to him we would eat Mac and cheese and hot dogs. I'm not the best cook, but I'm still learning. My mom and former step dad didn't cook very often. Most if our dinners were cooked by me once I got old enough to work the oven and stove. So we survived mainly on boxed meals that were easy to cook. I am able to cook a lot more now just from experimenting, cook books, and Pinterest lol. Also, step dad #2 is a really good cook so I've learned a lot from him. My mom can't cook to save her life lol.
I love my SOs cooking. However I must say and he would agree that I'm a better cook. I was raised with a working dad and a stay at home mom who made absolutely everything from scratch. I was always a mommas girl and learned my cooking from her. I deff love cooking and I have had my disasters but overAll everyone loves everything I make.
My husband is the cook in our home, always has been, always will. I shudder to think of what would happen were he to get a job that required him to be away from home (he's been offered and always refuses, did that once, never again) or if he wasn't around. Growing up my mom cooked from scratch nightly (yum!) with three kids. But when I was 5 and my parents divorced, she stopped doing that. Now her idea of cooking is cracking open a box of something, a bad habit I picked up. Our house rule is we avoid prepackaged meals at all costs. Canned goods are one thing, as are cereal and crackers and such, but no prepackaged rice, pasta, mealbakes, hamburger helper, etc. And no MSG.
Hubby cooks, I bake. I also try to do a lot of the dishes when he cooks, it only seems fair. He hates when I'm in the kitchen cleaning up after him though, as I start washing things he wasn't done with. He can't wait for our son to be able to help in the kitchen like he did growing up. *swoon* I'm spoiled, hubby wants to be a stay home husband and dad. Once we can afford it, I plan to let him. He used to stay home a few years ago, and it was awesome. I'd come home from work to find a spotless house, dishes done, dinner cooking and all the animals tended to. Seriously the only thing I did was laundry and that's because I basically threaten him if he touches the laundry. That's MY domain!
Im a bloke and in our house i am definately not the better cook. I go into the kitchen and see a few random, unconnected ingredients and come out with toast. Gaynor walks in to the kitchen, sees the same ingredients, waves her magic wand and before i know it im eating a lovely home cooked meal with dessert on the way!
Lmao@that joke. That's hilarious.
In my home and in my experience women are better cooks lol.
My husband is a terrible cook.
My grandma is an amazing cook but I can't say about my grandpa as he's passed but my grandma says he never touched a frying pan. Lol.
My father is not a great cook.
The only reason the culinary arts are male dominated is for the same reason other professions like high level executives are male dominated. To make it up the ranks to be recognized, it's an extremely demanding job, with long, odd hours, and little to no vacation time. Only recently are women breaking into fields like that as some forgo having children and others are benefitting from more egalitarian relationships as well as better labor laws. In the next couple decades you'll definitely be seeing a lot more recognized female chefs!
I'm definitely the better cook. My husband does the outdoor grilling and is still learning.
When I was growing up, my dad was the cook. He is a really good cook! I keep telling him to open a restaurant but he thinks I'm joking, I'm not joking! Lol my mom on the other hand, would die if take out didn't exist. After my parents divorce, my mom made black beans and rice everyday! If it was a special occasion, she would buy a rotisserie chicken :/ the woman can't even make spaghetti for crying out loud! She married up but neither of them can cook so they eat out our order in everyday.
In my family, I am the cook! My husband thinks he can cook, but he makes the most unhealthy meals lol. Bless his heart! I intend on teaching our children how to cook because I don't want them to depend on anyone or live on junk food!

Why men choose to become obgyns?
I'm a better cook when it comes to normal household meals lol but my husband takes the prize for grilling and plating dishes to look all fancy and coming up with recipes on the top of his head that always come out delicious.
