And I must say, Kinder Joy (what is sold legally in the US) does not even begin to compare to the Kinder surprise eggs. Just ask my 3 year old.

Kinder Joy is just white chocolate with two little ferrero balls on top - other half has the toy. The Kinder Surprise egg is an actual egg shaped chocolate with the toy inside. Toy aside, they taste nothing alike.

I’ve seen kinder eggs all over wal Mart in the US. Are there different kinds that are banned?

Many people bring the Surprise Eggs from overseas, but last time I checked it was illegal to sell them in the US. The stores that sell them can get fined. However, last I checked was months ago, so that may have changed.

They’re not banned, a grandma of a preschooler at my daughter’s school brought some home from Scotland because they’re no longer illegal. It was delicious!

The Kinder Joy are such a disappointment. I bought one for my 3 year old (who regularly has the Surpise eggs when my BFF brings them back from Germany) and he legit opened it and started crying. He wanted no part in it. Wouldn’t eat the chocolate and wouldn’t even open the toy ?He told me he was going to call my BFF and tell on me ?

???

The kinder joy has a separate compartment for the toy and the chocolate. The surprise has the toy inside the hollow chocolate egg

The kinder joys aren’t banned in the US but some people seem to think you can’t get them at all anywhere?

There’s this girl on there commenting on each person saying they’ve recently bought a surprise egg “no what you saw was a kinder joy”. Girl stop. I can get the legit kinder surprise egg at my Mexican store?
