Just so I understand right, the people with unrestrained children, they are in moving vehicles? Not parked? I park and sit in my car with my 3 year old and he gets out his car seat and plays in the car until we get out and walk to get my daughter. That's allowed right? But if you are in the drive through lane and moving, your child must be restrained. But I'm ok parking in the side of the road for a few minutes and un-buckling my son? I don't want someone calling the cops on me and it never occurred to me that it would be unsafe and illegal.
Left side are parkers who walk up. They did in fact pull at least 1 person over that I saw. I'm sure there was more. They had 2 cops patrolling and a county sheriff on the main pull out road. The teachers were talking about me calling as I was getting my kids in the car (small town). I did in fact make sure that I said to them as a mandated reporter I actually did my job and called the cops before I drove off ??????.
Did you smirk at the uncaring teachers? This is a huge step in the right direction. I love that you didn't wine, you took action. And got responses! Did they actually ticket people, maybe the ones in the left?
It varies by state. Many states don't have primary offense seatbelt laws. We do. The seatbelt ticket is much less though. The ticket for an unrestrained kid is a lot more.
It's the law here too. But people for reasons unknown believe when in pick up and drop off line that they are somehow exempt from those laws. They will be learning the hard way, with tickets that it is not in fact the case.
I don't understand how you have all these children riding around unrestrained... It's weird to me. In Canada it's the law to wear seat belts and children have to be in the backseat.

Yes moving vehicles...I'm in the pick-up line in this picture. Just parked. Waiting for the release bell.
