If you've frozen cheese...how did it turn out once unfrozen? Any issues? I'm considering buying my cheese in bulk at Costco...shredding it and freezing it in individual serving bags. I've never frozen cheese before, I've just bought it as needed...but the 2 cent 300000000 lbs bag of mozzarella and giant blocks of cheddar and Swiss call my name every time I walk by them. So I'm wondering if freezing is the answer to end their siren call?

I freeze it in chunks and shredded. I do vacuum seal it though so it doesn't get freezer burn

Cream cheese does not freeze well at all.

No personal experience but the barefoot contessa froze her extra Parmesan the other day on the food network. Lol.

I buy mine from costco too and I freeze it and it still turns out really good:)

When you take it out from freezer it'll have tiny little ice on cheese but it doesn't taste any different

I freeze fresh mozzarella to make it easier to grate and it's always fine!!

I freeze mine to make stuffed meatballs with, it tastes fine once it's thawed. So I'm sure it'll be alright. ?

I have tons of frozen cheese in my freezer. I just pull it out when I need it. It defrosts pretty quickly.

My dad does it. I don't need much cheese in order to do that, but he does it & it tastes, looks, & smells normal.

I always buy my cheese in bulk and then freeze until it's ready to use. No issues here, you never would have known it just came from the freezer! ?

I've shredded cheese and frozen it before. It's super helpful - you can just use a butter knife to chop off a chunk of shredded cheese, and it melts and cooks the same as usual.

I've frozen containers of feta before...was fine. Never done other cheeses though but I know my mom and sister do and they don't have any issues with it

I have frozen homemade pizzas once and it was fine

I've never had a problem with it being crumbly, I wonder if that's when it's in a lower temp freezer?

Yea! Our sandwiches always tastes the same and even when it's melted/cooked in a recipe it still tastes the same. ?

I read on Google that it can change its texture (crumbly) but that it's still fine if it does that. We all know Google lies though #clearice

It definitely melts the same! I would never be able to tell the difference.

We freeze cheese all the time, in blocks or shredded. Only once, when a block thawed, did it go weird. It went all crumbly when I tried to use it on the cheese grater. But just that one incident and never again. So I'm not sure what happened. Maybe I had a bad block of cheese?

I always buy our cheese in bulk from Costco and take what we need and freeze the rest. It always tastes exactly the same to me thawed.

:)

Goat cheese or feta anyone? The huge vat of feta is also super appealing.

I freeze it all the time, it's the same thawed and doesn't taste any different ?

Did it cook up the same Wilde? I'm not worried about if it gets crumbly or anything...so long as it melts normally. We don't really just eat cheese alone (unless it's goat cheese....anyone know if you can freeze goat cheese or feta also?) but we use it too cook with. If it melts normally. I'm sold.

I froze my first block last week, thawed it out and you would have never known! I've never shredded tho but I would suggest it would be the same :)

I freeze mine and it still tastes the same once thawed out.
