Cops on Mothers Day
Yay! What a joyous present. I love dealing with a****** inspectors and police officers at 8 am in the morning!!!!!
@the pp who was snarky, most inspectors are really bored, just because they say something is hazardous, doesn't mean it really is. the one in my parents city fined them for making their garden in their very own yard 3 inches too tall.?
He was probably just looking for something to do, and he happened to stumble upon her husbands business. Sorry you had to deal with this, OP.
The inspector guy literally drives around the area looking for violations. We got a visit from him at our house last year for our grass being too long ?. He needs a life me thinks ?
The fire marshal told the guy to go home and stop harassing their business. High five to him. They had to put up caution tape until they get it rezoned and they can't plug in the new equipment until that's done, but whatever. Small potatoes.
The city didn't complain. The inspector is not a city employee. He was after the fee.
The landlord was fined 5k and the space has to be rezoned because of the new added equipment. The inspector shut up really fast about inspecting the room when my husband produced the NSA paperwork.
What a hassle!
Kobe- his office is in another town (the town next to us). The inspector went to the office, my husbands employees called when the inspector showed up there. The cops came because WE called them.
No, HE can't enter it....but people authorized can. There is a NSA seal on the door. Only those authorized can enter that room.
There literally isn't bigger concerns ???? (the town has 1,200 people)....but seriously. The inspector is also not a city employee they are independent contractors, AND our county gives a "whistle blowers fee" if they "catch" someone which is pretty sizable. I don't know what this guys problem is. He can't even enter into the rooms where the computer cabinets are held anyways.
He owns an IT business so there's TONS of computer equipment. Servers, and racks and all sorts of stuff. They came today because yesterday they had more equipment delivered and the city made a stink about the boxes being 6 inches over the driveway into the street (they were 1200 lbs boxes...so it took some time to get them inside). The entire back room was re-wired to accommodate the voltage they are pulling.
The inspector is claiming my husbands office is a fire hazard and is trying to red tag it.
I work for an electrical contractor and you either get a sweet inspector or a complete douche that will fail u because it's not up his standards, even though it's completely approved by the code (which is what inspector needs to base the work off)!! I feel ur frustration
Some people feel that ounce of power and take it too far
