Maybe you didn't know....maybe you did, but yesterday there was a HUGE solar flare that was aimed directly at earth (and a smaller one before that). Tonight in the northern parts of North America (^^^^^see picture) you will potentially be able to see the Aurora. Firstly I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ridiculously excited about this. Seeing the Aurora is on my bucket list and even though I'm right on the edge of the yellow/red zone here in WI...I still have my fingers crossed that I will get to see it. Secondly I'm really interested in if it's going to mess with our satellites and communications or anything like that. We are already being hit from the first solar flare so it will be interesting to see when the second wave hits us. Space is fascinating!

I'm in Nebraska and we just got back from trying to see it. No luck. There is a thin cloud cover and the moon is WAY to bright. LOL

I'm literally right where the yellow and red meet on the IL/WI boarder ? I hope we are able to see it. They said best visibility is after midnight. We are supposed to be cloudy and rainey until 1 am ? I hope it clears.
