Brands of formula..

I am expecting baby#3 and this will be the first time I won't be exclusively bfing. For my past 2 babies.. I've never even used a pacifier so, this will be a new experience. I want to try and pump but for some reason I don't produce as much milk. Just in case...

Figure out what's the cheapest and go with that! Lol. My son was on neosure since he was preemie, but lactose intolerant started up and we changed to similac alimetum. There are so many different types to choose from. I'd try a regular one and watch for any symptoms like gassiness, spit up, fussiness. And if you do need to switch, do it gradually by mixing the old formula with new over a week or so. If you use WIC, they usually suggest similac brand. Also, double check the vitamin contents. You might want to do a multi-vitamin with the formula. Most formulas don't have enough vitamin d.

And I wouldn't use the gentle or sensitive ones unless the doctor says to. They smell horrible and are a strange color. But whatever works for your baby. They're all different!

The hospital said we didn't need to sterilize bottles, just wash with warm water, so that's what we did. He got sick once his first year. Also, I didn't heat them up. He drank it at room temp. But again, all babies are different. I'd def try room temp to see if heating them up is unnecessary.

Costco brand (Kirkland) is just as good or better than Enfamil and it only costs $17. Enfamil was $35. Kroger and target brands are really thick grainy, clearly not great quality but I still used them occasionally.

My son always used enfamil, and plan on using it again if I can’t breastfeed baby #2.

Okay. Watch out for allergies and sensitivity to certain brands. Got it! It was so much easier just bfing on demand.. now I have to think about sterilizing bottles, warming up milk, keeping bottles and nipples clean.. sigh.

I liked gerber goodstart soothe since my son had colic and it has a probiotic that is like the enzyme missing in colicky babies

I now have him on parents choice gentle which is like enfamil gentle ease and he seems to be doing really well on it

Nothing to do nervous for... just watch out for signs of being allergic

Thank you RcRmama for the article. It was very informative.

Thank you ladies. There's so many different kinds out there.. it's a little overwhelming. I've never bought bottles or even fed an infant formula. Kinda nervous

If you have lactose in your family or your hubby be careful with Enfamil my step daughter is lactose and we found out my son is too he couldn't eat any of the Enfamil he was on all the enfamil formula till we found out here was lactose...

He's on Similac alimentum now!!

I've heard Gerber is good too

Similac. I had to use Similac sensitive when my daughter was on formula and never had a problem, everything else upset her little belly. But in my opinion the Walmart brand is just as good as Similac! I was just too scared to switch.

My oldest was on Nutramigen for lactose intolerance/milk protein allergy. I like the Gerber gentle though. I used a little of that before I knew about the allergy and it was my backup for the first month of breastfeeding with my second. In the end your baby will probably pick out what works best for him/her

What brand of formula do you prefer to use? Similac, soy etc... Thanks so much.

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
