What they said ^

Also, I used -mens undies!! They were much more comfy!! (Not boxers).

And -the bottle they give you at the hospital with the betadine!! Ask for extra before you leave and use the hell out of it! The -ice pack pads, the -dermo spray, the -hemmrhoid pads you stick in with your pad are a lifesaver too (someone help me out with the name of these!! I think they start with a P??).

-Extra wash cloths you can throw away (after I changed my pad I always squirted the warm betadine & water mixture and gently dabbed with a warm wash rag).

When I know someone is expecting and it's baby shower time along with the baby gift I always put together a momma gift which includes 2-3 large packs of pads and some liners for the end, the hemmroid pads I was talking bout, a headband and hair ties, a heating pad, a new water bottle (like a yeti to keep drinks colder or warmer longer so you don't have to get up as often), the dermo spray, fuzzy socks or slippers, a thin robe, a gift card for take out, a box of protein bars, a candle and some homemade chocolate treats. If you haven't had your bby shower already ans done a registry I would definitely include yourself!!!

Buy a red towel. Great for sitting on the sofa, bed , etc

Just in case you bleed heavily and you leak so you don’t ruin any furniture

Definitely buy some granny panties , usually a size up from your usual size. These were a godsend

If you plan on breastfeeding, look for nursing tops

These are usually super comfy and great for discreet feeding , for your comfort as your boobs will be huge haha

Lots of pads, nursing and maternity

Keep a jug next to the toilet that you can fill with warm water before going for a wee and then tip on yourself as you are weeing to help stop the stinging

Stool softener and piles medication

And pretty much what everyone else has said haha

These are my must haves:

* Slippers. Because walking on the slippery hospital floors with socks on after giving birth(and healing from an epidural) is a nightmare.

* A notepad and pens. I slept so much, I would forget who had been there and with the amount of paperwork we had to fill out and sign, the hospital provided the s*** tiest pens on earth.

* Camera other than my phone. To take nice pictures while in the hospital.

Yes this is hospital stuff but I struggled more while in the hospital than at home.

Stuff you don't mind getting milk stains on is a great point. Make sure you have somewhere close to your nursing spot for burp cloths. I'd also suggest putting a sheet or towels on the couch or chair where you will sit. I did this too late and now have milk stains on my couch cushion, and unfortunately I can't flip it. ?

Everything everyone has listed. I second the adult diapers. Those were really comfortable in the first week home.

Oversized granny panties that are cheap and you don’t care to get ruined

A huge water bottle & snacks

Tissues - because hormones

Lose tanks that are also cheap and you don’t mind getting ruined - because milk leakage

Coconut oil instead of lanolin. I feel it worked better for me.

Boppy pillow. I also used a book for breastfeeding times. But they have apps for that now.

Breast pump if u plan on making a stash

Giant diaper pads for yourself lol

Grab as many of those cool pad things from the hospital that u can. They were a vag saver haha I grabbed like 10 of them before leaving the hospital

Nursing bra

Breast pads

A giant water bottle for all the water u will be drinking

Thinking of more. I’ll add when I think

I’m sure most have been listed but I didn’t read the comment

A nice big cup/mug for your water refills. One that forces you to drink a lot of water

A "nursing station" (comfy chair in front of tv or in private room where you can read in quiet) with all of the previously mentioned items setup for easy grabbing. Maybe even a small trash can so you don't let that all pile up on you.

Donut pillow to sit on if you have a rough birth?

Dermoplast spray!! They probably will provide you some at the hospital but I would check ahead of time because if the don't, you might want to get some.

Meals you can prep and eat with one hand.

I also second the depends for pp bleeding.

Tons of water. Breastfeeding makes me thirsty. So being a big water bottle.

And bring comfy clothes.

I know this may sound weird but I bought depends to help with the pp bleeding since it was really heavy the first few days and I didn’t want to ruin my panties and they were more comfortable. Granny panties that you don’t care about. Super thick pads. Lots of snacks to help with late night feedings.
