@crai he is a very private person. But he does have a big supportive family. Also his dad works with him to help give him the support he needs at work. I did try to talk with him about getting a new job but he refuses bc he don't want to start over. He worked hard to get where he is at.

He will get clean if he wants to. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. I kept pushing my ex to get clean and he never did and still to this day isn’t. He just got better at hiding it. One week is a start though. My husband went to rehab when he was 18 and has been clean since. It’s been 10 years for him. You have to want to be clean and want to change.

As long as his always has a good support system around him he can do it. Addiction is hard, it consumes a person. Especially if their is enablers all around him. But the fact that he is trying is enough, 48 hours sober is awesome, let alone a week. Just tell him, one more week, one more week. Before you know it, it will be a month sober and than year, and then 5 years.

Congrats for you and your husband!!! A week is huge. The first steps I’m sure are the hardest. I’m hoping he comes out on top and victorious

@crai so far his will power has been very strong bc he just flat out said he is done with it and he don't want it anymore. He got tired of spending all of his hard earned money and having nothing to show for it.

He has been planning dates for us every weekend so that he has something to look foward to. And so that he can keep busy. We went to a drive in movie, we went to get Ice cream, we hiked around a local lake, and this weekend were going to the mountains or the beach.

As a former addict, I know the struggle. It's easier when u eliminate the bad people around u and surround yourself with only good. I started going to church & spent as much time with my church family as possible. If I ever had a temptation I'd pray and start praising God for his deliverance in my life. It helped.
