Well when I had my first child and I went to the store a young Mexican lady had complimented my rubbed her head that night she was crying I didn’t know what was going on so my ex mother in law rubbed the egg over her too and she was fine the next day she gave me a bracelet and said for me to never take it off her I never did and she never cried like that anymore so I do believe in it I was just not 100% sure what the meaning of mal de ojo meant thank you ladies you all have been very helpful and I will definitely make sure I get a bracelet for this baby when she’s born

@a.lares, I get that same thing, and I’m grateful I don’t have to ask them to touch my son either. They just know.

I def believe in it my baby has worn his bracelet since he was born and I plan on getting one for the next. SMH true or not if I can avoid a crying baby I will! Some times when people go up to him I even say you can touch him just in case to be double safe. Sometimes older Hispanic ladies will even tell me "deja le agaro la manita para que no le haga danio" (let me just touch his arm so I don't cause him any harm).

@shellwill29, I don’t really think to much of that stuff, but my husband and his family do. So my babies all wore a red crochet bracelet that my grandmother-in-law made for them with their names on them. My daughter’s fell off when we went to a family picnic and she did keep me up crying that night. The grandmother came over and rubbed a egg on her and she fell asleep. So I’m not sure what it was, maybe she wanted abuela lol it means the evil eye, it’s when someone’s looks at your child with envy and jealousy in there heart and “bad feelings or luck” are passed to the child.

I’m not a very superstitious Person!! But I think the bracelet and the idea is cute I love seeing little girls with the bracelet around their ankle💕I actually was given a bracelet just for me and I lost it😫I kept taking is off because it got wet all the time and it bothered me.... but now that I think about it evil things have been happening to me like dealing with my SO ex wife😂
