Anyone just look at all your kids and one in particular just worries you? My 4 yr old makes me sad sometimes when I look at him. He's in his own little world but drives everyone nuts around him. I still haven't taken him to see a behavioral specialist. I know I need to and I will before school starts up again because he starts pre-k this yr. I'm scared to have someone look after him like his teachers. I'm scared they won't know how to handle him and hit him or hurt him. I can't even imagine how things will be if he needs meds because I seen they turn them into little zombies and I don't think I can see him like that. Ugh maybe I'm just thinking about it too much. Idk. 😩
@d0iinjusfiin3, sounds like a lot going on all at once poor guy. You might try the stuffed animal thing and see if it helps. It was the same with my boys also
@babymamaof4 my mom was actually looking for them blow up things you punch, for him today but she couldn't find one. He stays trying to hit everyone that's near him. And we do have a trampoline my dad takes him outside as much as he can and recently found a basketball court because he loves to play basketball since he was like 2. But sometimes that doesn't help hes still hyper once he comes inside trying to punch everyone. And when he would get mad he would take it out on my cat. The last time I literally caught him stomping on my cat. Shes outside now though. But he does get in his moods where he starts throwing everything near him. I always have to keep telling my 7 yr old to get away from him when he gets in his moods or when hes hyper because they start going at it and my oldest really tries to hurt him. And I live with my parents right now and I have a down syndrome cousin that practically lives here (hes 33) and is in the living room 24/7 so my son likes to go and mess with him all the times. I wish his mom picked up up sometimes because I have to constantly tell my son to sit down and leave him alone. And I'm stressed out because of repeating myself to him all day every day. I just need to move out of here asap because my mom ends up saying mean things to him because she snaps and shes apologized several times to me already because of it.
@d0iinjusfiin3, there’s not a lot of difference between add and adhd and the bipolar thing he’s not old enough for testing as far as I’ve been told. My husband is bipolar and I have often wondered the same about my boy but they said they couldn’t test him until he was 10 for bipolar and now he’s kind of balanced out. When he was 4 or 5 I got him a stuffed animal just to take anger out on so he would hit it or throw it or choke it whatever he needed and that helped him a lot! And a few years ago against my better wishes we got a trampoline and that’s taken up a LOT of his energy
@tyshaijames2018 I have they told me I need to make an appt with a behavioral specialist so I'm going to do that soon.
@babymamaof4 what's the difference between add and adhd? I'm starting to think he may be bipolar also. Idk I'll find out once I make his appt.
@mamabird228 and how does behavior therapy work? And yea ppl told me there are other options. I'm a single mother and will be working soon so I don't have help taking him here and there. If that's how it works.
@mamabird228, me too /:
I completely understand that I know lots of moms that will try to overdramatize how “hyper” their kids are just to get them on meds that will zombie them out so they don’t have to deal with their kid being a kid
@mamabird228, I agree
Also remember teachers are trained to care for all types of children, it will be okay💕
Therapy may help but meds is like a very last resort and also I would never ever suggest adderral (I’m spelling that wrong my screen is shattered lol I’m trying)
Wish you the best of luck girl !
@mamabird228, yup my son is in therapy right now and it has helped him so much
My 11 year old is add but I refuse to medicate and we’ve had a few issues with teachers getting mad about his behavior but he’s not a bad child he just can’t sit still long. I use natural things to help him so they don’t have the side effects like the prescriptions have
@babymamaof4 he does have one it's a shark he likes to carry it around in his mouth sometimes and bite it really hard. When he was a little smaller he would grab the soft blankets and get the corner of it and stuff it in his mouth and chew on it walking around like that. He will be 5 in Nov. I hope he calms down some on his own once school starts
