I was on labetalol my entire pregnancy, and nifedipine the last three weeks of my pregnancy. Are you on either of those?

@halifax6, I pick up my medicine tomorrow I don’t know what she wrote me. Are those beta blockers? She said he might stop growing while taking them. But I’m far enough along to it won’t hurt him.

@dinamarie1995 yeah, Deacon was 5 lbs 6oz at birth. But at 34 weeks, I was actually hospitalized, and taking the two different pills every three hours which is why he was small. But everything physically was perfect! He did have problems with eating though, but ten days in the NICU and he was great!

Out of curiousity I was on nifedipine to stop my labor when I had my second (he was born at 35 weeks) anyways I was on it on and off for a week...so my question,is what exactly is a beta blocker?

@ashb9689, from my understanding it’s a pill that slows down your heart rate while it’s high that’s what the pharmacist said today. It also works as a blood pressure pill too

@dinamarie1995 hmmm so niphedipine (or however its spelt) has dual uses I guess?
