My little boy likes to snuggle to sleep...but it’s gotten to the point he won’t sleep unless he is in my side snuggled up against me! I literally sleep in one position facing him, I’m over it. Lol We both sleep well but I need my space back! How can I transition him into crib and still feel warm and snuggly in there?! Yes I swaddle him. Tried white noise machine... just need more ideas. He is 5 weeks old. 😊

If a baby is totally swaddled they can’t kick an additional swaddled blanket up over their faces. She didn’t need to be schooled about something she already knows and understands lol.

@modom16 I’m deleting because your taking what I said completely out of context and telling me that I’m risking my children’s life when you don’t even understand what I was trying to say. I know sleeping with a loose blanket isn’t safe, thank you. I’m not uneducated, nor would I ever risk my child’s life or someone else’s child’s life. When my daughter sleeps she is swaddled, and I swaddle another blanket on her lower half because it helps her sleep. There’s nothing loose, there’s nothing unsafe. And the fact that you said I’m giving someone dangerous parenting advice and I’m risking my child is not ok.

@modom16, because you attacked her comment. State your peace once and then move on. We don’t all have to agree and we don’t need to attack each other either.

@rachel1029 exactly, it helps a lot! I’m not saying to use a down comforter on your newborn. Lol

@montymama.bb, I agree with the blanket on their lower half. I think the added tiny bit of weight is settling- maybe like a gravity blanket for bigger people 🤷♀️ they do make sleep sacks for babies that have a tiny weighted oval on the chest- maybe same effect?

@modom16, god not a heavy blanket a thicker baby blanket🙄 and by thicker I mean thicker than the swaddle.

My son for awhile wouldn’t sleep unless he was either laying on me, or in a rock n play. I used the rock n play for naps, of course while watching him. It kind of holds them close, so they feel comforted.. At night I let him sleep with me, and then I barley got any sleep. But he was sleeping. After awhile i slowly started putting him in his crib for naps. He started out taking 30 minute naps and would be screaming again.. and now he will be ten months on the 17th and he won’t sleep in his crib worth crap. He has to sleep in my bed with me.. We both sleep fine like that. The bed is huge. He has his own space and I have mine. And he uses his own blanket. I know other mothers like to judge the co-sleeping, but it’s not up to them. As a tired mother, sometimes you have to do what you have to do. ☺️

Try getting a bassinet to have next to you. I did that with my daughter since she was born and she was always okay. Babies can smell you and as long as they do they feel comfort. I also do the sound machine and light lullabies until she’s fully asleep and than I turn it off. I transitioned her to her crib when she was 5 months and she did great. Keep the same routine going with the sound machine and lullabies and for the most part I keep the room dark. Keeping the room dark helps dictate night from day for them.

Where does he nap? I would start by getting a bassinet or even a co sleeper that goes on your bed but still separates you. If you’re trying to go straight to the crib my advice is be consistent, lay him down in his crib for every nap he takes (if he falls asleep somewhere else pick him up and put him in the crib.) I usually stand by the crib and rock my little one to sleep, once I know she’s in a deep enough sleep I lay her down flat and swaddled and I keep my hand on her chest and rock her a little until she settles again, then I get a heavier baby blanket and fold it in half and put it on her legs so she’s more secured (I’m not sure why but I swear it helps.) Now my 2 month old goes to bed awake in her crib and falls asleep on her own within 10-15 minutes!

I personally think you may have a hard time so young. Sometimes my 7 month old will only sleep next to me- so that’s what I do 😂 it tends to be more when he isn’t feeling well, teething or something like that.
I would start small- put him in an independent bed for naps first. Have you tried anything else like a swing or mamaroo? I know they say you aren’t supposed to “sleep” in there but you gotta do what you gotta do. My guy slept in the mamaroo for his first 4-5 months on and off.
