How do you sterilise bottles abroad? I breastfeed Ruby but I also express and give her a bottle so her daddy can have a turn. Indie was a toddler when we first took her abroad so I didn't have to sterilise bottles I could just rinse her cup out. Our hotel room doesn't have a microwave just a fridge, well mini bar which i guess will be chilled. Any tips appreciated x
@jamelauk, thanks I actually just came across this and looks like it would be ideal for the hotel room x
@sarahbcjm, she's not formula fed just breastfed only use bottles for expressed milk xx
I take steriliser bags off amazon and use the restaurant microwave
I use a cold water Milton bucket their £15 from mothercare and £3 for the tables, u will just have to go get bottled water when u get their I don’t use powder milk I use ready made so I just get my bottles out and pour in the ready made milk and it’s done for her to drink xx
@zoe.d84 i use medela, their bottle's aren't bulky and as your not taking to many bottles i would say just get this Milton Solo Traveller Steriliser, you can cold and warm sterilise in it and pop all the pump pieces that need sterilising in it at the same time i reckon x
Throw in a Milton tablet in boiled water in a bowl for 30mins. I actually did that at home once our sterilizer broke. And whenever we went away.
@mamaofzuri, we're away 5 days I use medela bottles and pump to express. Think I've got about 6 bottles altogether but don't plan on taking all of them with me.
I boiled some water and poured it over the bottles, tits etc at least 3 times. Worked quite well :)
You can also cold sterilse if you buy the tablets/ solution, can't remember what there called but boot's, superdrugs etc sell them
They are pre sterilised bottles and teats, you do have to buy them separately but they are easy to use when abroad, you can reuse them but only if they are sterilised again
@mamaofzuri, no they don't have microwaves there's a kettle in the room though. Not expressing isn't an option I will seriously burst if I don't, I express everyday x
As she's only 2 months your best just ordering them off ebay or amazon as shops like boot's only sell large bottles (tomee tippee). Online you can find the smaller one's that they provide in hospitals
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Question ladies, those of you who plan to bottle feed, when you take your boxes of pre sterilised formula in to hospital (I am having a section so in a few days) are you ladies taking a bottle warmer or just giving it to baby as it is?? If I remember rightly with my son many moons ago the hospital gave me a pre sterilised bottle and just have him it like that xxx
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
Oh well it be perfect then coz u can put all your bits in it aswell xx
