Honestly, they way I did it is I had my daughter lay in my bed, but I put my back to her. She doesn't like cuddling or anything like that. She was using me as a pacifier, and I couldn't take it anymore...when she'd fall asleep, I'd transfer her to her bed in her room. She always slept really awesome, the odd time she'd wake up for a feed or something, I'd just bring her back to my bed, and then put my back to her again, she'd fall asleep in no time. Only thing that worked in my house.

I did it by cutting out one feed at a time. If I knew for sure it wasn’t hunger (at 10 months some babies are still hungry at night so don’t believe when they say there’s no reason) I would just rock and comfort him during that time. Then once that one was cut out, I’d cut another. It was a few weeks of less sleep for me because I had to rock and cuddle rather than pop a boob in, but after a while he only nursed once a night for a few months. And his belly grumbled so I knew that one was hunger and let him grow out of that feed on his own.

@girlygirl1988, I would love to do cry it out but it breaks my heart to hear him cry. Some people can do it but me and do are terrible for it.

@kerstie14, ds won’t lay on me at all. He hates to cuddle and always has. He also won’t take any sort of pacifier. Normally I wouldn’t mind but it’s like he’s gotten worse at night and for nap time. Yesterday he maybe napped for an hour and he got up at 730 I believe and went to bed at 8 last night.

I did the cry it out with my son at like exactly 9 months as he slept next to me and was glued to my nipple all night . I was desperate and had terrible habits due to not wanting to wake my hubby up since he works super early . He stopped pretty quickly but we had to be very consistent in the beginning .

Sounds to me like he’s just using you as a passie ;) my kids did that as well. It’s just a comfort thing. If he’s latched let him nurse if not I always just pulled my shirt up and allowed my babies to lay their hands on my breasts for comfort or their heads.:)
