Has anybody moved hours away/states away from family when you have young children? How did you manage? Did your kids mind?

My 5 year old didn't like the move of only 2 hours away from family. But as she made friends in the new area and have play dates and all she's fine. She still misses them and asks to visit which we do
Currently. I have 4 young children and one on the way. It breaks all of our hearts and I have zero help.

I moved cross country 2 years ago. All my family is back in California. My dh's family all live here, and they dont help at all. Weve adjusted quite well here though. My kids have all made friends and doing really well in school. My mom comes and visits once a year for a couple of weeks.
