Advice please!!
How many naps and how long for, should an 8 month old be having?
Lately he has been sleeping for a total of 1.5 hours during the day but due to that he goes to bed at 8pm and doesn't wake till 6am.
Can you mummas please help? I have been putting him down the moment he is tired but he is fighting it so badly.
@paige_1999, my daughter was going 12 hours overnight no wake ups and she only had 2 30 min naps at this age. She was getting most of her rest at night! Your bub is doing great!
@mummytobe093 that's exactly how my 8 month old was but hasn't woken up for a feed throughout the night since he has been on solids. But now he will sleep for 20 minutes in the morning and an hour and 10 minutes in the afternoon then will go down at 8-9pm that's if we push him out till 9 and he will wake between 6-7am
My 8 month old sleeps quite a bit. He has two naps in the day. One is normally 2 hours and the other ranges from 45 mins- 2 hours. He then goes down to bed at 8:30 and wakes up at 3:30am for a feed and sometimes 6am for a feed. He wakes for the day at 8am. He is breastfed and self settles to sleep.
@liz.h that would more likely explain it as when I was breastfeeding ds he was the same.
@mishacharlie I was meant to get it done last week but didn't happen as my partner had to work and he has had a runny nose so I was like nope not getting it done yet
@paige_1999, I got my sons flu shot yesterday. The best time is May as the doc said the actual vaccine lasts for 3-4 months in the body. The peak of the flu season is August so it will be covered. With the flu shots they need a booster 4 weeks after the initial one.
Yeah mine is still breastfeeding though so not sure if that makes a difference. He wakes up to feed so often
@mishacharlie the last check up we had was his 6 month shots. Hoping to get him his flu shot done soon cause if he has an immune system like mine he will be sick every winter and I get very bad asthma through winter
@liz.h I'll have a look as I'm not 100% sure. Maybe I should count myself lucky he sleeps through the night then 😂😂😂
@paige_1999, I don’t think you’re missing much anyway. I just like it for the weigh ins.
@mishacharlie No I haven't had a visit since ds was about 3-4 weeks old
My now 9 month old doesn’t sleep 😂 day or night. We get 15 min naps from him once or twice during the day and only max 2hrs at a time at night.
Do you have a karitane or tressillian near you. Maybe give them a call as they are good with sleep and settling
@paige_1999, I think you did word it properly I just waffled in about my baby lol. Did you have an 8month check with the MHNurse? Often they will go through sleep. But I find they are quite rigid.
@mishacharlie I thought as much but just wanted to really know the average an 8 month old should be having. I should of worded the post better
The thing is everyone is going to say diff amounts. 1.5 in total is about the same as my almost 12 month old. He had about the same amount then too. Sometimes I find better to wait till they are a bit beyond just tired. But it’s all individual.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
??????October 2018 babies??????
Congratulations to everyone who have received their bfp!
