Feeling alone now that baby is here. My SO was extremely supportive during my pregnancy but now that baby is here I feel alone. He's off work with me but always finds way to leave the house, doesn't help much at night (we have a night owl), during day he lacks patience. Soon as baby cries he puts him down and show frustration. Remind him he suffers from gas so he cries a lot especially after feeding. He'll sit in another room and have left us sleeping on couch. Takes nice long showers and eats his meals in peace. I find myself crying at random times and wish I had more help (first time mom). Sorry I just needed to vent. Thank you!
@sarahbethk Yup smart thinking. He can sleep a good 2-3 hours at a time during day, I'll go soon as he falls. I look a hot mess and deserve nails or hair done.
@ashrod23 That's what I'm ready to do but don't want to sound like a nag.
@faith928, hahaha I totally understand. I heard phantom crying all the time! My second was really colicky. Try to leave him with baby at first when he’s sleeping or calm. When you go out without baby just make sure he has diapers, bottle, etc set up so you have peace of mind, and check in occasionally!
That was me and my bf for 2 months after my son was born . I’m a first time mom too and the first couple of months I just cried because I felt like no one was helping me. I had to rush to shower to eat I barely slept I was a mess while my bf just stood by sucked his teeth and complained all the time . It took me have a serious ass talk with my bf for him to realize he had to step it up !
@sarahbethk Thank you!!! I just get nervous leaving baby with him. Don't want him leaving him crying or something. I've never taken a shower so fast in my life before. Thank you for the advice. Tomorrow I'll take myself out. Haven't been outside in a while.
Having a baby is such a tough transition for everyone and I had a lot of resentment toward my husband because my life turned a 180 and his barely changed. Don’t be afraid to tell him when you need something, and if all else fails he needs some tough love. Leave him with baby and go take a shower or take a breather upstairs for a bit. Don’t ask, just do- he’s the parent too. He needs to adjust too mama, sometimes men just need a wake up call! I went through this with my husband and honestly until we had baby #2 I did everything on my own. He had to get better with the second around, but I made it way too easy on him with our first. Hang in there!
@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma Exactly!!!! When I went back in hospital after C-section, my mom said he was here helping. Now I'm back home trying to recover from two surgeries and he's slacking. Of course as a mother, we'll definitely be there for our child. I just don't like how he ignores him or if he cries for like 2 mins he's being mean to him and placing him down. Not seeing or figuring out what's wrong
Unfortunately a lot of men just don't know how to handle it... It's rare to find a man who helps and does just as much. They think they can do as they please because they know we will always be there to take care of everything because as a mom that's just what we do. It's very frustrating.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
