No one tells you you're going to have days you cry until there's no more tears left. No one tells you you'll question just about every decision you make. No one talks about the weeks of pain that follow a delivery. No one confesses the mornings they lay in bed praying the crying baby in the next room will go back to sleep. No one mentions all the days they just don't feel good enough to be a mother, friend, or wife. The truth is that all that ugliness is what leads to the beauty, but don't assume you can get the beauty without surviving the ugly. My boy is the best thing I have ever done in my life, but he's also the hardest. I don't see there being less ugly anytime soon, but I know there's also so much more beauty to witness.
