I think after my appointment tomorrow I'm switching obgyns.
@mommie_2x, Check with your hospital, they may have some midwives they can recommend also.
I thought about doing a home birth for literally maybe 2 seconds then deaded that idea! Lol I would rather be in the hospital in their pool than renting a birthing tub and dealing with the set up and take down and all that other stuff it comes with. Also I’m remaining positive BUT just in case something goes left, I would feel much more comfortable already being at the hospital near a doctor/NICU if they are needed.
@pinnkmom yea idk if I'll be able to do a at home birth, but I was reading on one in the area who also comes to the hospital. om afraid I'm going to have to have another csection.
I switched from a ob to a midwife at 32 weeks because i realized I wanted to do a water birth! I love my midwife, it’s a more personal experience!
@angelfoodcake, you’re definitely right about that. 🤷🏻♀️
@mommie_2x, lol that’s hilarious, but definitely true! 😂 I highly recommend switching to a midwife if you do leave your OB’s office. It may take you a little while to find the right one, but once you do you won’t regret it at all! ☺️💛
@angelfoodcake yea I just hope I'm able to switch I want a midwife or a doula !
@mommie_2x Yeah I don't think it's about the insurance, I think they just like to bill for the bulk of the pregnancy lol; but yeah stand up for what you want. I can understand certain ones being on call but my goodness feeling like a number is not cool. I had a obgyn office like that before, it was like 10 different ladies there, hated it. My doc last pregnancy refused to let anyone else delivery me, she happened to be out of town when my high risk wanted to induce me - she had them just admit me until she got back. She's direct, but awesome. I hope I get the same experience this time from her. She's a D.O not M.D - dunno maybe that makes a difference @miaheka
@angelfoodcake yea I dont like that, feel like a customer not a patient.
@angelfoodcake yea hopefully my insurance covers all the good stuff lol. if not I'll have to be that pregnant mom and tell them I cant keep switching, give me one and I'll be more than happy to shake everyone else's hand just incase.
@miaheka I always hear midwives are better but I think it really the person themselves & and the practice.
@miaheka I actually want a midwife another reason why I want to switch, I just think it's very frustrating and stressful when it's a different person in your coochie lol, minds well take a picture and frame it on the wall you know.
@angelfoodcake, that’s weird! Mine was all about me and baby boy! 🤷🏻♀️
@mommie_2x, ugh yes 😩 let me know how it goes !!!
@miaheka crazy I had to see a midwife while my d.o (like a md) was out , she was not detailed at all, very fast I felt like a number.
@bbhausfeld77 I cant stand that I'm over it and I'll be switching after tomorrow's appointment. its frustrating as hell I can tell you that
Good luck I had a hard time last pregnancy switching that late - and heard it happens often. Can't figure out why, think it's about the $$$. Also think it's about the money being seen by multiple docs. Irks me nothing is personal anymore. I hope you get what you want Hun.
@mommie_2x, That’s a good sign! Unless you have questions about things, then they need to acknowledge your concerns. I had a midwife instead of an OB, but I saw how different OB’s were from midwives when mine was on vacation and I had to see an ob. It was the worst experience. 95% percent of OB’s treat their patients like just a number, and all they care about is getting the baby out. Midwives are different, they cater to your every question, concern and always make sure you’re comfortable during your pregnancy. I’m sorry you’re going through this girl. 😣
And last week I measured 34 weeks which was exactly what I was and 2cm 80% and this doctor today measures me 32, 2cm and 50% effaced and I’m like so it doesn’t matter or what and no one says a word they’re just like you’re healthy ! Let us know when actually labor starts... I’m like do y’all even look at the computers to see you all telling me different things !?
@bbhausfeld77 I dont know anyone's name and the one I thought I did like I seen her at the hospital (someone else's delivery) and she just gave me and my SO this look like who the hell are you, and why are you speaking to me. so that said enough for me !
@autism.mommy I dont like it my files are just bring passed around like a hot potato
I know! My other hospital called my doctor when I was in labor and everything so she delivered. Here in Kentucky lol it’s whoever is at the hospital the time I go into labor. I don’t even remember names anymore I see so many different doctors and nurse practitioners
@prettygurlfly yea I'm 27 +3 so now my appointment will be more frequent and they all seem like they dont remember you I dont like it
@miaheka but no one talks about anything I literally get measured doppler and a see ya next time
@bbhausfeld77 exactly I dont like it every person is different, and its nerve racking i feel like if i stay i minds well pick a random doc and nurse at the hospital, just blindfold me.
I just recently switched for this same reason and I’m 22 +5 weeks idc I’m tired of seeing different all the time
@mommie_2x Mine's like that also. I always ask them what will happen at my next appt so I'm prepared for the next appt.
@mommie_2x, They’re probably like that so you’re familiar with all of the OB’s the day you go into labor.
I see so many different ones and absolutely hate it !!! I always saw one with my daughters and I loved it. They tell me different things measuring me different every time. It just stresses me out seriously
@autism.mommy I dont like how the one I'm at now switches obgyns so I never know who I have exactly every day is someone new, they never tell me anything so I'm always in an out. I just dont like it I had my 1st born in a different state and I always seen the same person it seems more well rounded that way and I felt comfortable.
@pinnkmom today was okay, but I still think I'd like to switch
