Any suggestions on how I can get my son to stop sleeping in a pack n play in the living room? He's been doing it for almost a year now. He used to sleep in his room before that untill my husband keep taking him out there with him if he woke up screaming. It's so frustrating because it's been that long that me and my husband have not been able to hang out and watch our shows together at night. We got him a twin bed a few months ago and we keep trying to talk him into sleeping in it but he has no interest, just likes to go in there on some days and hang out with us on his big boy bed. Please help ASAP. I need adult time, it's been to long.

Move the pack and play to the bedroom, then transition to the bed.

We thought of that but if he wakes up he will freak out if he's not in the same room as dad

My husband wait till he falls asleep on couch then puts him in playpen. I forgot to add that part. And my son will be 3 at the end of this month

I agree with the first suggestion. He’s going to freak no matter what, gotta start somewhere, he will adapt.

Honestly I’d just go cold turkey. Take him to pick out a comforter and start hanging out in his bed more. Remove the pack n play completely and when you put him to bed tell him he’s a big boy now so you had to turn it in. Theyll probably be a crazy amount of screaming the first night but just reassure him that he’s okay. Maybe even get him a projector toy so he can look at. We have the Vtec soothing hippo and my daughter loves it. We transitioned her out the crib at 3.

Thanks guys. I got him two bed sheets sets with construction vehicles on it and put construction vehicle decals on the wall near the bed and he still does not want to sleep in it. He will bring us to come and hang out with him on his big boy bed but at night wants nothing to do with it

I have a projector that puts stars all over the room and he likes that but it does not help

Ok this weekend we are going to try. My husband and I talk to him about it almost everyday but he just doesn't say anything. We say are you going to sleep in your big boy bed tonight and most times he says nothing or no.

Also at his age do most parents stay untill the child falls asleep? Will he want us to stay in there?
