Anybody had abnormal results on a quad test that called for a amniocentesis? Message me please

I had an abnormal quad test. My baby came out perfectly healthy. Don't stress it's just a ratio not a diagnosis.

I had an abnormal quad test. Came back for risk of Down syndrome... I did not want to do the amino because of the risk of losing the baby.. after further testing (did the harmony) and ultrasounds turned out it was a false positive and my soon to be 2 year old is fine.

@jasmine.moore7509 It's okay hunny just breathe. Did they tell you any numbers? Like 200/250 or anything like that?

I just wanted what’s best for him. And was worried but no matter what the results were our baby would be loved.

@casanovaivette2711, that’s what she said Down syndrome risk and my test is the same day I’m pose to find out the gender how cruel is that

So what that means is if you were in a room with 150 pregnant women, 1 of them women would have a baby born with down syndrome. Your at a higher risk of having a child with down syndrome is all that means. Ask to take the Harmony blood test, that will tell you for sure.

I would ask if you can do the Harmony test.. it’s just a blood draw. No risks to baby. And I believe it’s like 99 or 90 something percent accurate

@jasmine.moore7509 Don't stress literally there is a 1 percent chance your baby has down syndrome. Those quad tests do nothing but scare us moms.. if I ever get pregnant again I'll deny that test because it.causes extra stress

@tayler, if they got me worked up over nothing I’m gonna be pissed she literally asked me if I would want to terminate my pregnancy and I’m at work! A few years ago I had a abnormal pap she told me I might have cancer over the phone!and was wrong

Yes. It honestly does just stress .. how was the nt scan? Did you already do it? What were the results of the fluid on the baby’s neck? And nasal bone.. if that was good then baby is good.. 😇 it’s most likely a false positive

@jasmine.moore7509, no it’s an ultrasound done like at 11-14 weeks.. where they measure the fluid behind the neck

@jasmine.moore7509 Same shit happened to me. It's crazy. But it's not a diagnosis you have a higher chance of losing your baby during an amnio than having a baby with DS. I know it's stressful and hard to think about but just take it easy and wait on that other blood test, I can almost promise you that it will come back normal! If you read online there are so many women who have went through the same exact thing!

@jasmine.moore7509, it was probably done at that time. You can ask the dr what the nt results were. If she says their normal.. and theirs a nasal bone I’m positive it’s just a false

@jasmine.moore7509, I think it’s higher when you have a higher risk number and your like over 40 or something like that.

Also a neat thing about doing the harmony is they will be able to tell you the gender😇

@jasmine.moore7509, There is a high chance of losing the baby with the amniocentesis. The procedure is basically them inserting a needle in your uterus for a sample of your baby’s amniotic fluid to test for abnormalities and other things. There are so many other tests you can have them do instead of the amnio with the same results.
