Has anyone tried evening primrose oil to start soften they cervix ? My sister did it and she had her baby this morning at 39 weeks
That’s wasn’t even long at all I guess that’s does plays a part 😂
@selandriac, nope I gave birth 9 hours after the very start of induction. My cervix dilated from 0 to a 4 in like 2 hours and they were expecting it to take all night so that’s why I thank the evening primrose oil 😂
@selandriac, my doctor had me start them at 36 weeks i went into labor at 37
@deepsoul0490, u tired it for yourself how far along were u ?
@lisahunter707, your fine everybody has there opinion about certain things but I’m glad u didn’t experience anything bad
@selandriac, I was induced the day after my due date so 40w 1 day
@tacos4lyfe, how many weeks were u when u were Induced
I used evening primrose oil inserted against my cervix a few nights in a row before I was induced. I believe it helped my cervix open very quickly and easily after they put in the foly bulb. And now I have to respond to the comments about castor oil. I keep seeing people saying it worked for them or someone they knew but that doesn’t mean it is safe. Babies DIE from this. Please stop spreading this dangerous suggestion.
@idontwant2bapie, oh my do getting your membranes swept hurt ??
@mayjayy14, sex is very uncomfortable for me 🤦♀️ Nd I’m only 31 weeks but I’m not trying to go in labor I just want to know lol
@momof2gs, I guess it had something to do with her already 3cm dilated
My advice would be a lot of sex that's what I did and I went into labor 39 weeks 1 day 😂😂
EPO won’t induce labor, it helps to soften the cervix but it’s not an instant thing. You’re recommended to use it for a few weeks. I’m assuming it’s coincidence that she went into labor later that day. Congrats on a healthy baby auntie!!
FYI Red raspberry leaf tea won’t send you into labor either. It helps to tone the uterus so labor/ recovery is easier on your body.
Castor oil is very dangerous & an outdated practice that should not be used to induce. You get contractions bc it gives you diarrhea. If baby has a bowel movement & aspirates it, it can be fatal. I sadly know a couple moms who lost their babies this way. Just bc your sisters best friend from college had a cousin whose roommates neighbor used it & their baby was fine doesn’t mean all babies will be.
@selandriac, I get it. We did kind of take over. Lol. We just get riled up when people mention castor oil.
I never did primrose oil so I have no advice on that part
@jellybeans33 exactly. Sorry for not explaining that! Lol
@jellybeans33, lol it’s fine I got mad at first because it seemed like no one read my post and got so caught up with the castor oil
@jellybeans33, sorry to hear that I’ve only heard it sent ppl Into labor and it worked fine for them but everybody body is different I guess idk I’ve never used it
@selandriac, it’s not directed towards you. Just the other women suggesting castor oil on your primrose post. Sorry your caught up in it.
Sure it was orginaly about it. Im just telling you don't listen to others saying to take castor oil.
@mayjayy14, oh no i was never goin to use it I just wanted to know has anyone else used the oil and it helped them
@kaytrone, it works for my sister with her cervix is all I’m saying and she went Into labor the next day and had my niece this morning so evening primrose helped her
@selandriac like I said use the primrose oil just please do not listen to women saying to use castor oil. That is all.
@mayjayy14, my post is about EVENING PRIMROSE OIL NOT CASTOR OIL 🤦♀️
@selandriac, dang it worked the same day? I’ve been researching evening primrose and it says u can start taking it at like 34 weeks and it would take some time
@mayjayy14, because he advised her to take EVENING PRIMROSE OIL 😂😂
Ive known 2 babies to pass from the mother drinking castor oil.
Sure use the primrose oil but please never use castor oil and please don't condone it
Welp it didn’t work for our friend from B.B. who lost her baby due to castor oil.. why risk it if there’s any chance it could harm your baby. I just don’t get it. What’s the damn rush.
@nikki9109, she was 39 weeks and 3cm dilated and the doctor told her to try the primrose oil to see if it softens her cervix and it did
Just warning you of a possible outcome if you choose to use castor oil.. Be perpared for any related risks nicu .. Ect
Everyone has their own opinions but MY POST WAS CLEARLY ABOUT EVENING PRIMROSE OIL ! And who has tried it and it helped. It wasn’t bout inducing labor or anything just a simple question to who has tried it or know someone who has because my sister did and it worked 🤦♀️
Why get pregnant if you still want to be selfish and put your UNBORN child in danger already simply because you can’t wait for baby to come when ready? You know how many mothers would have loved and done anything to keep their babies safe inside?
@selandriac It's not fine. It's never fine. I'm gonna say this once and if you don't get it you're just a idiot. CASTOR OIL KILLS BABIES. Don't use it don't advise someone to use it.
@selandriac her doctor needs his fuckking license took away
I used evening primrose oil. Gave birth at 39+5
If you want eat pineapple have lots of sex go on lots of walks do a dance Bounce on a yoga ball
@kaytrone, she was 39 weeks so it was fine that’s why her doctor told her to use it
Castor oil is extremely dangerous. Let your body go into labor on its own. If it doesn't the medical professionals will induce you when it's time. You should know from the moment you get pregnant you're in for 40 weeks you should expect nothing less. If you go into labor before then that's because your body did it not because you forced it.
@selandriac, you’re snapping for what? I stated my opinion🤷🏾♀️ sorry.
@fieldst0812, ok but she used it because she was already 3cm dilated and the doctor told her to use to help and it did
@achappex3, idk how MY POST IS IRRITATING but if it bothered u then u shouldn’t have comment obviously the doctor felt it was safe she was already dilating 3cm so she was perfectly fine
@lisahunter707 that doesn't change the risk of using castor oil
@redheadedmonster, nobody said anything wrong it’s just a question so if u didn’t use or know anybody who did use evening primrose oil then u shouldn’t have commented period
You can be 39 40 weeks and baby could still pass away from castor oil!
@Lisa fire your midwife if she told you to use castor oil
@selandriac, I Will Use It When I’m Close To My Due Date Which Is June 1st .
This post is irritating. Coming from a preemie mommy idc how uncomfortable you are let the baby come when ready. You could cause way more harm than good rushing the process.
@selandriac im just saying dont do it. I know more than 1 female who has and had a stillbirth !!!
@fieldst0812, the doctor told my sister to use Evening primrose oil and she went in labor
Let baby come when baby is ready! If something is wrong let doctor will use their medical use to bring baby on
@mayjayy14, I’ve heard good things about it as I stated before and it did good for Ms. Lisa no complaints so everyone is different
So What Is Best To Use To Soften Your Cervix ? I’m Almost 37weeks
For fucks sake. DO NOT get pregnant if you can’t let your body do its job on its own! Baby will come when baby is ready.
@lisahunter707, it works fast I’ve never tried it but my friends have Nd they would agree with u lol
Its never safe. Anyone who used it is risking their unborn babies life
baby can bm inside you choke on its own poop and die..
Everyone I know that has used castor oil it worked great for them 🤷🏾♀️ I guess it depends on the person body everybody body is different
I know a friend who did the castor oil one I’ve heard it works great
@fieldst0812, all I know is it helps soften your cervix
@lisahunter707, I was shocked I didn’t think it would have worked for her but it did
For fucks sake. DO NOT get pregnant if you can’t let your body do its job on its own! Baby will come when baby is ready.
