I was jsut reading through the comments and its amazing how many people had\has back pain from it. I literally was up walking no pain as soon as they took it out of me no pain still to this day

My epidural was a life saver with my first !! However, I didn’t like how I felt after my delivery... this time around I’m going all natural ! 🤞🏾😊

Omg yes!!! I did 14 hrs at home miserable. I thought they were Braxton Hicks!! Once I went in and gave in to getting the epidural. It was 100% easier things went a lot smoother. Baby was stressing out! My blood pressure went sky rocket. But everyone’s body is different. If you can handle it then don’t. Now I have horrible back aches! If you can’t then it’s totally worth it.

I labored for a long, long time, water broke and all, without one. But I was so exhausted and tired and I was stuck at 9.5cm that I finally gave in and got one. It was a miracle for me, I don’t think I would have been able to have my son vaginally if i hadn’t gotten a few hours of painlessness and epidural can provide. I pushed for almost 4 hrs (he was face up 😣) and that was after 24 hrs of hard labor and it was a miracle that he came out I was so exhausted my body was giving up. You’ll know when the time comes what to do.

Hell yeah! Totally recommended! I didn’t get mine till 7cm dilated but I pushed through until it was time to break my water, so I got it before they did that! Did wonders for me... I had a pretty hard delivery tho and had to have an emergency c section (if you have a c section they usually decide to put an epidural in for that) so I was thankful that I already had it and they just upped the dose of pain meds! It was awesome for after pains also! Won’t do it without an epidural!😁

I had an epidural and loved it. I have a high pain tolerance so I didn’t feel like I needed it when I got it (I knew I wanted it, just was waiting for the pain to get bad) but after 12 hours of labor my doctor recommended I get it then to help relax my hips and get baby to come down. She accidentally went into my spine (which I didn’t know at the time, apparently it’s not normal to have numb legs 🤷🏼‍♀️) but I haven’t had negative side effects since and I would definitely get it again. I was numb for a couple hours after but I was okay! Walked myself to the bathroom and everything was fine.

I’ve had 2 epidurals and 1 natural birth

There’s a huge difference in baby, and myself!

For example- baby was sluggish with epidural. Without it, baby was very alert.

Myself- I reacted well to it but I didn’t like that could get up and do stuff for myself after giving birth. days after I was in horrible shape.

This time I was able to get up after an hour, took a shower, ate food, gave baby her very first bath with my husband. It was just so special. Now that’s I’ve been home for a week, I feel great!

I did not want the epidural I said my whole pregnancy I was not gonna get it I have a high pain tolerance but as soon as my contractions got really strong I wanted the epidural before I even got to the hospital lol I walked up to the desk she asked me my name and I said I want the epidural nowwwww she started laughing I said don’t laugh at me I’ll punch you she quickly got me into the room to start timing contractions and about an hour later I had the epidural and was feeling so much better I couldn’t feel my butt down lol

There are also other pain management options besides an epidural. If you are concerned of the risks, your best defense is being informed. Ask your birth center/hospital what they offer, and research to make your decision from there.

It depends on you, your pain tolerance, and mental preparation. My plan was natural. I waited a while to get mine but I felt everything just not in crazy pain, felt the baby come out, and knew when I needed to push. I wanted to go natural but my labor was super aggressive early on and I just couldn't stand that pain coming every other minute. Do I recommend it though? I think it's a a good option to have, like everything there are pros and cons. I will probably try to wait it out again this go and get it if the option is available.

Epidural all the way! Like pp said, I don’t handle pain very well. I’m a woose😵

It worked wonders during delivery but it hurts massively just bending over to change a diaper or even just holding my daughter

go with the flow is my advice If It gets to much and you want it then go for it. with my 1st I didn't want to take it but after 30+ hours of labor I did with my 2nd it was maybe 7 hours and I didn't get one with my 3rd I did so whatever works for you and your comfort

Lot of people do but honestly everyone reacts differently to it. Mine only lasted two hours and made me puke and faint after. Not to mention the months of back spasms from it. I recommend it for sure but i probably won’t ever get it again just because of how i reacted to it

I loved mine. I dont handle pain well though. No problems from it
