My baby has acid reflux and heartburn 😭 he’s only 3 weeks 😫😭😭 I could really use some positive words... just hate seeing him so uncomfortable 😣
@chanel42 well like a couple of the other ladies said, keeping him sitting up for at least a half hour will help and also try feeding him at a slight incline instead of flat and burp him after every ounce if you can. Try to keep him in a bouncer or swing a lot during the day and if you wanted to you could look on amazon for a bassinet that has an inclined insert so he can sleep on an incline at night too. I did all of these with my son and never had him on a medication and it worked pretty good. It usually does last up until you can give him food though but at least you can help him feel a bit better until then. At about 4 months with my son I started putting a little rice cereal in his bottles with the ok from his doctor and that helped him settle his stomach a little more, but it's considered "taboo" which is why I asked his doctor.
@chanel42, he was vomiting less on his medicine so the doctor suggested at 11 months to ween him off his medicine and see how he would do. When I did that he was still keeping fluids down still and no screaming for hours. I cut back a dose each day and by the time we got down to one dose he was still keeping food/fluids down.
@michellemybell09, I’m happy it got better. I only have to give him Zantac twice a day. How did you know that things got better and you were able to take him off?
My son was diagnosed at 1 month he took Zantac three times a day which did wonders for him I was told after a feeding to hold him up right for 20 minutes and elevate the head of the crib also when he was able to eat solids it got better. His did last until he was 1 years old but every baby is different.
@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma, no we just found out today so the dr said to give him Zantac
Do you breast or formula feed ? I do both and for the formula they switched me to enfamil A.R . It’s helped my son in HUGE ways ! Still spits up on occasion , and at the beginning he spit up a lot cause it was a new formula but he feels a lot better
my daughter was the same way! it was horrible! but she got better around 2-3 months
@ladyblauvelt.skysmomma, thank you!
