Does anyone who gets food stamps know how long it takes to replace a card? Ours went missing and we're supposed to get…

If you go in they should be able to give you one immediately. Otherwise its whenever they mail it, then mailing time. So like idk...anywhere between never and 1m. Go in!!

Family can't take you? Or bus? Yeah I'd start the process via phone then go in asap to get an emergency card or vouchers.

@kambam we don't have any family who would help us. And we don't have busses around here 😢 if we can't find it by tomorrow morning were gonna report it missing

When you call ask what you can do to expedite the replacement process or how you can get emergency food.

One can be mailed to you. Call your worker. I think it takes like 7-10 business days or maybe 5-7

Failure as a mom is not being able to provide at all.. food stamps shouldn’t be the only way to provide for your child.. by working and having to spit out some cash from that for food is the way to do it.. not go hungry because your card got lost..

@jennrudy2016 I'm the type of mom who won't eat just so my child can. We only have 1 income and that is only 400 every 2 weeks my child will eat but the stamps are the only way we can all eat. If I have to I'm gonna go to the church. We live Check to check and we are broke till the 14th.

@karensmommy, well I hope you can get food some how. I used to be that way also didn’t get food unless I used my card.. now I feel ashamed to even use my card.. and plus I don’t get much cause I make to much i guess.. they only give me 130 which is nothing for three kids and me.. so I use my pay checks to get the other 300 in food a month sometimes more..

@jennrudy2016 I'm not ashamed using my card when I need it. It's hard to feed my daughter because she's so picky so I normally spend 300 just on her food

Don't let anyone shame you, I'm sure you are doing the best that you can. And @jennrudy2016, I hope your intentions weren't too shame op for being in a situation you yourself were in. It reads as shaming, piebald you were trying to offer advice?

@karensmommy, and no not shaming just didn’t like how you said you felt like a failure as a mother because you lost your card. Your child doesn’t know where her food comes from.. and even if it’s ten dollars yoj got to use from your own pocket to get food till the card comes in then that’s how it should be.. like they say if there is a will there is a way..

@jennrudy2016 I just misread it I guess but it sounded judgemental. But some people like me have to do what I need to survive.
