@brittany_s ..try a warm bath helps relax his muscles.. elevate him also..babies need gravity to help poop if they are laying flat makes it harder..also try bicycle motioning his legs...should all help...after day 3 ..of not pooping for a newborn ..makes sure they have no fever.and eating and peeing Properly...

@brittany_s, I know why you did it. I don’t blame you. Your doc just definitely shouldn’t be recommending a 3 almost 4 week old apple juice. But rest assured he could just have gas which is why he’s “pushing” or acting like he has to poop. He’s adorable btw.
@sammymclaughlin77, it was just to help him poop because he’s acting like he needs to but can’t and it was only an ounce I wouldn’t have done it if the doc didn’t say too
Please don’t give your baby apple juice. That is so so bad for him. I don’t know any doc that would recommend that at such a young age. It is completely normal for breastfed babies to go up to 10 days with out a bowel movement because their bodies literally use everything in your milk that there’s not reason to “waste” anything
@kelsey19, he will be 4 weeks tomorrow and yes only an ounce or two tho I just have him an ounce
My doctor recommends glycerin suppositories. Never did it tho
@achappex3, I just feel bad because it’s like he’s trying to poop but can’t
@achappex3, yes I’ve tried everything I can think of I called the doc and she said apple juice so I gave him an ounce like an hour ago
@brittany_s, I was just asking because it seems concerning to me that your doctor would recommend that. I’d definitely try other routes next time instead of the apple juice.
