I mean correct me if I’m wrong but I thought you weren’t supposed to smoke weed or cigarettes when your breastfeeding much less drink without pumping it out?
Cause I have a friend who does all three and says there is no harm? I’m just curious, my baby is formula fed but hers is breastfeeding
The risks increase if you smoke more than like 20 cigarettes per day. You shouldn’t smoke immediately before or during breastfeeding( duh) It can inhibit let-down and is dangerous to your baby. It’s better to smoke immediately after breastfeeding to cut down on the amount of nicotine in your milk during nursing
Cigarettes is a no but still better to feed baby than not I guess... ♀️
Alcohol is fine long as you're not getting wasted every day.
Weed is personal choice, it hasn't been studied AT ALL so there's no telling for certain.
You can breastfeed while drinking as long as you’re sober enough to drive a car so the rule of thumb is usually like two drinks. As for cigarettes you can still breastfeed and smoke cigarettes because the percentage that transfers to milk is extremely low and will not cause any addiction. I took a lactation course at the hospital and they had a whole chapter on that but it didn’t cover weed
Apparently moms now a days don’t care what they put into there baby’s body’s.. very sad world we live in where are needs and wants cove before our children..
At least that's what id do personally. They also make milk testing strips that she can buy that help determine if its safe to feed baby after drinking or not.
Alcohol definitely transfers in breastmilk. Nicotine as well. Not sure about the weed. But yeah, she should "pump and dump" while drinking.
The pump and dump with drinking is an old myth. Ok to drive ok to feed. Smoking I have no clue because I do not do either.
