Are my expectations too high ? I’m getting induced either Thursday night, Friday morning. My goal is to have my baby and be released Sunday. My son has school Monday and I need to make sure I am out of the hospital to take him. My fingers are crossed for a healthy, fast delivery and recovery so I can be back to normal business Monday. My friend thinks I’m crazy. Most of you know I’m a single mom and I don’t want to interrupt anyone else’s life by asking them to help me. Is this doable or am I crazy?

😕 I mean anything is possible, so it is doable... But it's still crazy to think about, lol, pull that off people are definitely gonna be like "well damn, you go girl!!"

As soon as that 24hr mark hits I ask for discharge papers lol. As long as you both are healthy and fine I see no problem with getting right back in the swing of things. I have a strict routine at my house so as soon as I came home I was right back at it

I had my daughter on a Friday very early in the morning and got to go home Sunday. I had 4th degree tears too but I was feeling good and just wanted to go home so my doc okay'd it... So yes, it's possible!

Thank you ladies, how soon did you all drive after giving birth? I read mixed things. I plan to drive to the hospital and I’m hoping to drive myself home.

I was induced with my last baby. We started the induction Sunday night, I gave birth Monday afternoon and we were home Tuesday evening.

With my first kid I didn't do the whole driving for 7 or whatever days they tell you after.. But after that I was driving and doing normal things... although with all 4 kids dh has always taken the week off after so I didn't have to do school drop offs.. But I say you gotta do what you gotta do.. I would be like you and wouldn't want to bug people..

I really think you should have a solid backup plan in place. Induction could take longer than expected, and you really shouldn't drive after the baby for a bit. Driving uses the same muscles as delivery, and can cause you to bleed more. With a decrease in iron levels, you're at a greater risk of hemorrhage.
You should probably check if the hospital will even let you drive yourself home. They may require you have a driver.

The hospital isn't going to just let you hop in a car and drive yourself home. They watch you get in.

I was admitted at 9:15pm, had my baby at 10:15pm and asked for them to prepare discharge at the 30 hour mark. Less than 36 hours. I could have left sooner, but I wanted some time without my evil MIL
