I have a question! I have a teething baby 😅 I’ve been giving Tylenol around the clock but around the 4 hour mark he gets really pissy. Is it ok to give him half a dose every 3 hours or do I need to stick to the whole dose every 6?
@dinobutt, I totally get it, my daughter was a monster for a few days until her first tooth broke through 😫 The ice cube in the mesh feeder is really what helped sooo much! And now she’s cutting a second tooth and I’m planning to purée fruit, freeze in the ice cube tray and put that in the feeder! Maybe that would help if you have started foods?
@mommytok, awesome thank you so much!!! I’m just trying to find solutions because we’ve exhausted all of them!
@dinobutt, there’s no reason to do that. Tylenol takes some time to work, it’s not instant, so if you gave a less amount more frequently (which I’m a nurse and I would highly suggest you don’t do) you’d be constantly playing catch up because by the time it finally is effective, it wouldn’t be the full dose so it wouldn’t even help. Basically long story short, I would only give as the bottle instructs and no other way.
@dinobutt, poor baby😢 poor you lol. My girls never wanted skin to skin but would take snuggles. I would call the pediatrician about the half doses more frequently TBH
@mommytok, is it considered an “extra” dose if it’s half the dose in half the time instead of the whole dose in the whole time?
Definitely wouldn’t use orajel or Motrin. And absolutely don’t give extra doses of Tylenol. If you research long term effects of too much Tylenol you’ll never want to do it, trust me. Cold damn face cloth, put toys in the freezer. My daughter is 6 months and her doctor said it’s okay for her to have an ice cube in those mesh feeders which she LOVES and it helps a lot
@phoebesmommy, still pissed. I’m tried skin to skin, showers w me, chew toys, frozen waffles/binkies, the ONLY thing he wants is his swaddle, Tylenol, & binkie lol
How does he do if you hold him or skin to skin???
Oh sorry, I didn’t see he was 5 months. Try frozen wash clothes to let him bite on. My son’s dentist said orajel makes it harder for the teeth to break through
Orajel can cause swallowing problems, I wouldn’t recommend it. I used to give a half dose every 3 to take the edge off and it helped a ton. Also a frozen then thawed wash cloth or breast milk/formula popsicles were a lifesaver.
@canaryv, I thought they couldn’t have Motrin until 6 months? He’s only 5!
@taylorsmommy1017, it’s not just fussy. He is PISSED. This is definitely a very traumatic experience for him. My first one didn’t act like this when his teeth were coming in!
So the doctor says I have a UTI, cystitis, and the start of a kidney infection!!! 🤦🏻♀️ he's going to give me a dose of antibiotics tonight and then I have to fill the rest of them in the morning! @mombie.

8 healthy crock pot meals (7 to freeze and one for dinner tonight) prepared and cleaned up in less than two hours (would have taken less but I have a newborn so I was limited to one hand at times). I feel accomplished and am soooo looking forward to not cooking every night!
Do I have to give up spicy food
TMI
every time I have a contraction I feel like I have to poop or pee. Sometimes both 😩 is this Normal ??
It sucks they started my dose of these pills at 8 this morning because now I have to stay awake until 2 to get one of my every 6 hr doses. And these pills are making me feel like crap
Tylenol is every 4 hours according to the bottles sooo that’s probably why. Just no more than 5 doses in a 24 hour period.
