@betty.crocker That was the same process I went through with my first baby.

@jaskeana I went through Aeroflow too and had no problem at all. My pump is actually being shipped today, but my doctor had no issue with giving me a signed prescription that Aeroflow needed for final approval.

@jaskeana after you have the baby you should be able to get any doctor on call to sign the prescription. Or even a lactation consultant or midwife. 🤷‍♀️ Ps he's a jerk - I needed a pump shortly after birth and definitely couldn't have waited 6 weeks!

No, my doctor also approved it right away.

@mct yes we do have them I just wanted to get the Spectra s2 something I liked not something they want me to have and my insurance had already approved me for it . It's the dr.office not faxing back my paperwork

My insurance doesn’t allow you to get them until after the baby is born. My midwife gave me the prescription when I got discharged from the hospital and we just stopped by the medical supply place on the way home.

Do you have lactation consultants at your hospital? Here lactation gets your pump for you so you don't have to worry about it. They do it before you even leave the hospital with your baby

yea because my womens care said the same thing, we cant give it to you until you have the baby, because ppl sell them like why would I sell it if i have plans to breastfeed ? If I sell it what am I going to do take that money and buy another 1 NOT ! lol

@jazz girl nope I'm currently going back n forth with a doctor I'm due June 21 there saying they won't sign it until 6 weeks post partum

@mommie_2x but you could still sell it after you have the baby my doctor has no right to tell me when or how to feed my child like I'm due June 21st if they don't sign it I won't get until August 10 or so and I have to go back to work with no milk saved

I've never heard of the Dr not signing the prescription. Especially not as late as 6 weeks. The latest I've heard is a few moms getting their script when they were leaving the hospital from giving birth.
