Yes. It was easy. Second time doing it. Took about 2 weeks maybe. You get a percentage of what you make. I'm married and file taxes together with my husband, so we got back a lot more then last time because he had a different job that did not pay well

I got std through MetLife which is what my old job went through for maternity leave. The process was simple. When I went into labor I had 7 days to call them and report my birth. Afterwards I got 6wks (standard for vaginal birth) of maternity leave 4 weeks was at 100% pay and 2 weeks was at 60%. Also got an additional 2wk extension approved by my doctor which was also at 60% of my pay.

If you call them and let them know your expected due date ahead of time they’ll have everything ready, and when you go into labor they’ll just start your benefits from that day.

Can you still do this if your job does not offer paid maternity leave?

I get it through my insurance that I get at the job I had to make sure I did it when the new year started and then did the paper work with the hr boss when I left work called the company and opened my claim I get it every week 60% of my pay.

Not all states mandate short term disability, especially if the position doesn't have benefits otherwise. Whether or not your employer /state offers it would be in your employee handbook. You can also talk to your HR.
