How do you know if your having contractions 😕

@ashelin.ezell13, I meant before I had my epidural I didn’t feel any contractions- even though the monitor was reading I was having very strong ones. If that happens to you, you will be in luck! Because for me I didn’t feel them until my water broke and it wasn’t that long before I had baby (that’s when I had the epidural though)- our bodies are built for this though! I’ve wondered how it would have been if I didn’t get the epidural.

You might not! I couldn’t feel mine (I was in the hospital being induced- the monitor showed they were strong). Once my water broke, man it was very obvious- such a dramatic difference, but at that point it wasn’t long before I had my baby- I also got my epidural at that point. My stomach was tightening though, but if I wasn’t induced I probably wouldn’t have gone until my water broke, which might have been cutting it a bit close.

@ashelin.ezell13 they might be but it sounds more like Braxton hicks. with my first I could talk and eat etc through my contractions at first but they were pretty constant just keep watch for any discharge and if they get regular or anymore painful

@ironbutterfly they come and go depending on what I'm doing and stuff and they only last like 3-5 mins

@uncouth early this morning went to the bathroom And went to lay back down and I had sharp pains at the bottom of my stomach near my hipa

are they constant and are they at the middle to the bottom of your belly? also good way to find out is drink some water and lay down. also look for discharge
