How about instead of focusing on teaching our daughters to be safe and not get raped we focus on teaching our sons about not raping. Teach them that no matter what a woman is wearing, they have no claim on them. Let's teach them that they have zero right to any other person. Lets teach our sons AND daughters about consent. That no means NO. Saying nothing means NO. Being unconscious means NO. Wearing a short skirt, or tight leggings or a low cut shirt DOES NOT MEAN YES.
I have 3 son's 2are much older ages 22&15 yrs old from a young age I have taught them respect women.Don't ever put your hands on a woman and No means no...In reality it's not your average man raping women.girls. or even boys. men (They are a Freaking sick individual who want Control)&etc !.Women need also to learn you can't trust every man you meet either and be aware of your surroundings at all times that's the world we live in
@boymamachronicles it's absolutely disgusting.
truth. i agree they need to be focused on equally but i grew up being told "dress like a whore get treated like a whore" and it was messed up. sad that when a girl gets sexually assaulted people say "well look at how she was dressed what did you expect?" UMM a compliment? not to get raped??
@ishabroadway21 no we shouldn't, but our daughters need to know how to protect themselves, because unfortunately it happens! I have 1 daughter, she is taught to defend herself and any situation, my son's are taught the same, they are both taught how wrong it is to do such a thing. They need to be prepared for what sort of fucked up shit the people in this world is capable of, and men, get raped as well.
As you said, focus on teaching them that no means no, and that’s from anyone. To couple with this, folks should stop forcing their children to hug every family member they see, stop forcing them to say hi to people, stop forcing them to refer to people as sir or ma’am. You’re setting them up to be lured into a false sense of security and then these babies feel like they have to do whatever uncle joe from 5 generations back says because he is the elder. NO! Give your babies bodily autonomy and respect! They’re people too, not robots.
@trailer_trash_queen no. We should not have to focus on not getting raped. Its fucked up that we can't walk down the street without being terrified of being abducted and raped.
I guess sharing my personal info on here means having it used against me in a personal disagreement yes I was raped and no you have no right to use my daughter against me as a personal jab
School fees
Having an intense debate on Facebook about school fees for public school. I'm in the "stop whining about school fees and stop having kids if you can't afford them" camp and there is the other camp of "free school is a constitutional right! It's bull s*** we have to pay anything at all".
So this morning my fiancé and me went to my folks for Christmas. On our way there we had to stop at his ex fiancé house to drop off an ornament we found of hers when we were setting up our tree. I was upset because I really didn't want to see her especially on our first Christmas being engaged and our daughters first Christmas because she has been mean about me in the past. Now I come to find out that she has been asking him about our daughter and stuff like that. Do I have a right to be upset o...
I’m thinking about wearing depends after i have the baby is that a smart option ? I hate pads i jus hatttttteeeee them
*I'm just looking for others perspectives*
I want to have my son circumcised, my husband who is uncircumcised does not want our son to get the procedure. I don't know much about the difference because I'm a woman, we don't have a religious preference to do it, just I'm just curious about what others plan on doing for their son!
As a mom to only boys, I have to say that I don’t know anyone that doesn’t try to instill good boundaries, respect, and a strong moral compass into their sons.
I also want to add that women aren’t the only ones being raped and assaulted.
