Can anyone help. My daughter is almost 11months old and she refuses to hold her own bottle. How do I get her to hold it on her own
@mommynmotion, that she does hold I have a sippy with the straw and she loves it
Get a soppy cup with a straw and pretend it’s yours she’ll see you drinking it give her a sip to taste then just let her have it all the way
@mommy_x3, yeah I think that’s my daughters problem cause she picks it up but she won’t feed herself
I started my boys at 4 months to try and they would drop it i just give it back and after a month they started holding it , but since shes 11 months I give it her and if she drops it don't give it to her even if she cries so she can learn
@nlock, I tried what the other ladies said and my son didn’t like it so I was just like you gotta learn somehow 🤷🏻♀️ I think he knew how to hold it all along he was just lazy lol
@nlock, For some reason she just didn’t want to do it. I didn’t have another on the way, so I can’t give you advice to make her hold it. I just enjoyed it while it lasted, because now she doesn’t even want me touching her. 🙄
@mommy_x3, that’s the point I’m getting to
@g_lynn, she throws a temper tantrum when I do that
@theinkedmommy, oh no I got another on the way I need her to hold her bottle
when you feed her, put her hands on the bottle while your holding it as well. She'll get the hang of it @nlock
prop it up with maybe some blankets, or put ber hands around it if it falls I'm sure she'll get the jist soon.
My oldest didn’t hold his own bottle til he was a yr old 🤦🏻♀️ eventually I would just lay it beside him and if he wanted it bad enough he would pick it up 🤷🏻♀️
So, I have looked into and discussed it. Doctor says that sitting her up and supporting her is not an issue as she can hold her head up for more than a few minutes on her own.

Holding in her on pacifier
Are you mommies letting your babies walk on their own time? or are you helping them?
Amiya crawls and can stand up on her own while holding onto something. She hasn't been able to let go yet. Sometimes I hold her hands and have her walk through the hallway so she can get used to walking. The only way she walks is along the walls and finding things to hold on to.
So my daughter is not FULLY holding her own bottle yet. Is that even normal for an 8 month old that's not breastfed?
since everyone tells me I hold my daughter too much I guess I will never Hold her unless I'm feeding her.
@nlock, yup that’s the best type to begin that weening process with bc it’s the second thing they see mommy doing the most next to tipping and drinking but they make supply’s like that too spill proof ones
