I giess it depends on who passed and their understanding of the situation...

My four year old niece is attending a funeral today - my husband and I are against, but it isn’t our child. 😕

She gloated to us yesterday about how she gets to go to one, and we’re like sweetie do you understand what a funeral is? Has mom explained any of this to you? She rolled her eyes and started to have a tantrum.

Neither my husband or I could attend our grandparents funerals and we were older then she is when they both passed.

So I guess I’m more just worried than anything. 😕

I personally don’t believe in taking a child to a funeral. They are overwhelming for me so I couldn’t even imagine a child.

My first funeral was an open casket and I was like 7. Maybe younger. I had a recurring nightmare for a week after. Sooooo you do what you want with that information lol
