Mommy's of boys pleeeaseee help. Charlie not wear a nappy, literally. We'll be in the shop and he will there and then pull his trousers down and try and whip his nappy off. He's panicking every time he wee's or poops in his nappy. He's had a regular 'on the floor' potty and won't sit on it anymore. I've tried him on the toilet for weeks But he freaks out, so yesterday i bought the seat that goes on the toilet. He keeps telling me he needs a wee but when I take him he does nothing, I take him off and within seconds he wee's all over the floor and gets stressed about it. We tried potty training a few months ago and he did a few wee's in the potty but then refused. I'm at a loss as what to do. He refuses to wear nappies etc but just won't wee in the toilet!

@ezchaz I've tried bribery and it does nothing 😫 it's not even like I'm forcing him to potty train, hes showing me he wants to. Honestly it's a nightmare trying to get him to keep nappies/ pull ups on. He just doesn't wanna wear them but then minute he does something in them he gets all panicky and stressed xx

@ezchaz it's just so frustrating lol, he wants to use the potty, I'm happy for him to use the potty but he won't do anything on it!!! It's that bit harder of boys aswell, cos tmi but their willies sit above the bowl of the toilet so I either have to point it down or try and get him to lean forward. So much malarkey 😂 xx

hola I have a floor pee'er too but he's an grown adult haha. 😂
I got a seat and a step for our toilet as Brody likes to wee standing up.
Took us awhile to crack toilet training but I had to do a reward jar, and he placed a marble in for every wee and two for poos. about every 10 marbles he got a lollipop and then when the jar was full he got a toy from the toy shop. We had to fill the jar atleast 3 times to crack it with Brody.

@beffgoude lmao amen to that. See o was thinking of trying it standing up because obviously it's harder for boys to pee while sitting down. I might get the steps and try it that way. Only thing is Charlie is still quite immature within his age, so I don't think he'd understand a reward jar but worth a shot nonetheless. Of I could delay him for a few months I would but he just will not keep his nappies on. I've also noticed he's holding it in when he has a nappy on which is just gonna make him ill!

@jo.wilcox does he wear a nappy or pull ups? we switched to pull ups and that helped too as he felt abit more grown up, then went cold turkey with it all when he'd worked out to use the toilet.
And I mean he's nearly 2 so he can understand you and he knows when he's done something right or wrong. I'd just praise praise praise everytime he uses it then itl click in his head that you think it's great him using the toilet.
Don't be disheartened though if he don't get it straight away and if you need to delay do it. Our Brody had only just properly cracked it in Nov as he was just lazy 🙃

@beffgoude nappy atm, we tried pull ups for a while but it's the same situation he just slips them off. Oh god yeah he definitely understands me and right/ wrong. If he has no nappy on and wee's straight away he stresses and goes 'uh oh' so he knows he shouldn't do it. Aww bless him, he did good with it though! That's partly Charlie's issue with a lot of stuff, he's pure lazy. I even say 'mummy needs to go potty' then let him watch me wee then he asks to go on but just won't go! Thanks, I'll try the steps and the reward jar and see how it goes, something has to happen. Can't keep having him mooning people in the middle of the supermarket 😂

@jo.wilcox I think it's a boy thing the lazyness as it carriers on into adult hood too 😂😂
and see i had the opposite with Brody he'd happily sit in pee and poo all day 🙃
I'd just talk to him like an adult in a sense and explain if you don't want to wear these nappys you have to use the toilet. there smarter than you think kids are. Hope something works for you!

If you wanna give potty training another shot I'd stay at home for the next few days. Let him be naked. Keep the potty near by. There will be accidents but being naked he will hopefully become more aware and start to run to the potty when he needs to do something. You could try: marbles in a jar, sticker chart etc. (Non worked with Morgan, he lost interest after the first few days). If you see an improvement then brilliant. If he's still not sure after a week then I guess you'll just have to stick with putting the nappy back on him! See how he goes.

@sara-lou86 I'm definitely gonna give the whole rewards thing a go, I'm not feeling very positive about it lol but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. It's so difficult, as I said I'm not forcing him to potty train, he's just refusing nappies and holding it in when he's wearing them. Oh the joys of parenthood haha
