Any moms on here have a c section?? I have a few questions... after you had the c section and they stitch you up, did you instantly want to sleep or did you get to hold the baby first still?? I just don’t want anyone holding her before my husband and I but I want to see the first time he holds her. Sorry if this is confusing 😅
@baileymcdaniel usually hospitals will only allow u and hubby to hold baby first cuz its the bonding experience for parents and baby and its very important
@kariannemarie, okay good to know. I don’t mind people holding her if this happens to me, but I want my husband and I to hold her before our families.
@baileymcdaniel my mom and i have some issues so i gave birth friday nighy and she didnt even come till sunday but my sister came and as much as she wanted to hold her she respected my wishes as well as hospital policy
@kariannemarie, did your family feel like they could hold her before you at all?? That’s what I am worried about.
My epidural didnt work so they pumped me with ALOT of drugs and i was super sleepy but hubby held her first after the doctors did their thing than when they got me back to the room the doctors only wanted me to hold her. That was their policy that if possible the mother holds the baby for a minimum of 2hrs after delivery
@baileymcdaniel, I mean, of course the doctors and nurses held him while he was being weighed, cleaned, and wrapped, but it's all in a clinical way. The first cuddles were my fiance.
@nomli, okay awesome. I was just concerned that everyone was going to hold my baby before me.
As they were stitching me up they asked if I wanted to hold him. I was shaking so badly that I was afraid I'd drop him, so my fiance held him. I held him once I had been given some calming meds and we were in the recovery room.
I held her on the way back to my room
