Okay so bubby is 16 months old. He still wakes up in the middle of the night and he takes his bottle and he drinks damn near the whole thing and falls back asleep actually he hasn’t been drinking the whole thing lately. I can’t do this waking up in the middle of the night thing anymore how do I wean him from that bottle?

@mommy.to.sterling, he drinks milk throughout the day for naps lol I’m working on getting a sippy cup that he’s actually able to use at nap time and stuff without him getting pissed off and I can’t remember if you told me about it or someone else. What if he kept the bottle and I gave him a smaller size nipple with some water instead of milk?
@noahs.mommy, yeah milk good. My friend gives her four y old a bottle still all he drinks is milk n a bottle and is over weight bc he drinks more then he eats. I feel it’s laziness bc he’s n bottles n diapers at age four :(

@mommy.to.sterling, he wakes up and I give and he takes it cold but every now and then I use the bottle warmer if I’m feeling that he won’t go to sleep with a cold one
@diegosmommy0213, Noah has a weight problem and is on whole milk I can’t take away the milk what so ever i just need to wean him off waking up in the middle of the night that’s it. I can’t really get picky about “bad habits” with my son. I’m quick to admit I sucked my thumb until I was 12 because it was a comfort thing for me. Noah’s security blanket is bottles with milk he only gets a baba when he goes to sleep.
@leroydoom, yeah I’ve noticed a few time when he wakes up his breath smelled SO bad I couldn’t stand it and I brushed his teeth right away. It made me gag it was so bad 😷 all because he fell asleep with it in his mouth so that thin layer on his tongue and cheeks and teeth went bad omg
@leroydoom, at one years old I took away the bottle too away. He drank water n milk only . And at two y old he stopped drinking milk so he stuck to water all day and at two y old I allowed oj only. N now he’s four y old n drinks water 24.7 n oj once n while.
I started sippy cups at four months old too so it was easy by one y old to switch I didn’t want to fuss wit bottles .. I feel for me pass 1 n half is to big for stuff like that... I kno every mom is diff. But that’s how I did it n he didn’t hv bottles n stopped waking up n the middle night .
@noahs.mommy I understand, with water you also don't have to worry about it sitting in his mouth and damaging his teeth the way milk can (not always the case, but it does happen)
I should have been a dentist or dental assistant the way I care about teeth more than the average person 😄

But to me a kid shouldn’t hv a bottle pass 1.5 y old. 2-3-4 y old is big for bottles n a bad habit especially when there n pre sch at 3 y old.kids at my son pre sch cry for bottles it’s sad bc there big... so a sippy cup for bed and water if that works.
@leroydoom, I’m okay with the bottle I don’t want to throw away bottle completely yet and I’m fine if he uses a baba with something else in it at night to wean off of it and just stay asleep
@leroydoom, yeah I’ve heard of giving water instead of milk but I can’t give him sippy cups for bed because he just can’t do it and I don’t have the sippy cup I need right now so that he’ll take one to bed
I switched to sippy cups shortly after my son's first birthday and would give him water in his at bedtime but that was it. Like @diegosmommy0213 it might be a little difficult at first because he's going to be upset about not getting the bottle but it will be better for him in the long run.
@diegosmommy0213, not all children are the same though and I don’t see him stopping in his own. I was addicted to milk when I was younger I always needed a sippy cup of milk. His security blanket is a bottle with milk in it it’s a comfort thing. He’s always full before bed and I can’t let him sit in there and cry because I sleep 2 ft away from him and we have this thing where he comes to my bed it’s been routine since he was itty bitty but I need it to stop. I’m not taking away his bottle completely yet I just need him to stop waking up in the middle of the night
Make sure he’s super full before bed n the rest of the night cry it out or do only one bottle
Mine stopped like a year m half so pretty soon urs will change
N I didn’t do bottles so sippy cup worked by not allowing him to wake up more
How many times do you mommies wake up in the middle of the night and breastfeed?
Baby girl falls asleep during feedings and nothing I do seems to wake up her to finish her whole bottle 😐

At what age did your child stop waking to be fed in the middle of the night? My son will be 5mo on the 31st and still wakes 2-3 times a night wanting a bottle.(formula fed) he drinks 6-8oz every time he is fed day/night
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
