Usually babies react to breast milk like it’s a laxative so I’d say contact your pediatrician immediately because I was told every baby is different but 5 days is a concerning amount of time to build that bowl movement up

@inkedsouthernbelle, I contacted his pediatrician An she told me to come see her Monday but I feel like Monday is too long but he is having a lot of gas.. an wet diapers. I’m just really worried cause that’s along time to not have a bowel movement. An this is my first time breastfeeding but when I was in the hospital he had movement with every feeding.. so I started to wonder if it’s something I’m doing wrong

It's normal for breastfed babies to go anywhere from 5-7 days without a bowel movement. Its good to follow up just in case though and there's never TOO MUCH breast so if you offer him more he may just poop ☺

How old is your baby? My son had a lot of constipation issues and it was the result of the type of formula and water I was giving him. I used Mother’s Bliss constipation medicine with my baby and switched him to nursery water and earths best organic milk and that worked out great. Also, you can sprinkle a little probiotics in a bottle of breast milk and that’s super safe and supposed to clean out their digestive system causing them to get back on track with regular bowel movements but just ask your dr first to be safe. All babies are different so what worked for mine may not for yours but it’s worth a shot because their tummies are too tiny to not pass poop at least once every 2 days. Mine goes 1-2 times a day now
