**need immediate advice*** my son has severe sleep apnea and he wakes up constantly throughout the night with a runny nose and because he can barely breathe half the time so I took him to an urgent care for something irrelavant to the sleep apnea and the pediatrician there told me I could give him Zarbee’s night time relief for the mucus build up. the pharmacist and I compared the ingredients between Zarbee’s infant cough and mucus and their children’s night time one and she told me it should be fine because one year olds can have honey.. well I gave him half of a dose which is between 2 and 2.5ml because I didn’t want to give him the whole dose a 2 year old is supposed to have, even though he is the size of a two year old, and I completely missed that there’s melatonin in it. Only 0.5mg but I’m worried.. is he going to be okay with this?
I’d call the doctor and just keep a close eye on him. He should be fine since it’s such a small dose.
He should be okay, especially since you gave him a smaller dose, but does your pediatrician have an on call nurse service or anything? Just to get reassurance. I've called more times than I can count just to hear them say "It's fine." Haha.
@shayswayy, my daughter was 3 when she had hers removed. They didn’t know how big hers were until they removed them. It’s crazy. I’d say it’ll be ok though Momma
@damn.it.red, he’s only one and doesn’t let the doctors see his throat so who knows how big his are. He’s had it since birth I feel like. At 3 months he used to turn blue in his sleep it was so bad 😢
@damn.it.red, and thank you!! I sure hope so because I’ve heard such negative things about melatonin😢
@shayswayy, oh wow. Yeah my daughter doesn’t have a severe case. Having her tonsils removed helped a ton. They were HUGE which made it harder for her to breathe.
@damn.it.red, yes he has. It showed that he has severe obstructive sleep apnea. It is just taking forever for him to see an ENT
@inkedsouthernbelle, thanks love!
