Do OPK lines get darker the closer you get to ovulation?

Yes.

If you test once everyday, you should get 3 dark lines. One for 24 hours before, the day you do ovulate, and the 24 hours that follow. Once I realized my lines were darkening, I had sex everyday till they faded down.
