Any moms here have Gestational Diebities ? I need some guidance and advice please inbox me thank you :)
I always carried my meter with me. Def just go to a bathroom to do it if you feel uncomfortable out in the open.
@verguinia, just make sure you are eating filling meals.
@littleonemorning ok I will try my best I'm hungry already and I just ate omg I'm fat !!!!!
@verguinia, I adjusted pretty much right away. But my mom is a diabetic so I kinda had an idea.
@littleonemorning ok how long did it take you to adjust to this new eating style and blood monitoring ?
@verguinia, I personally would do frozen. Canned veggies are fine, but look at the sodium and it also depends on how you are going to be cooking them. Certain ways can alter the nutritional benefits.
@littleonemorning ok I'm going to buy like canned veggies is that still ok ?
@verguinia, my doctor said I was allowed to still have cake and cookies, just not every day and within portion control. Just remember veggies and protein are your best friends for the next couple of weeks!
@littleonemorning that's a very smart idea with the needle disposing thing I'm going to so do that !
@littleonemorning thank you so much for your help I also love sugar it's gonna be a challenge for me truly it's like looking my hobby of things I really enjoy eating
@verguinia, no worries! It’s not a huge adjustment. You can still eat when you are hungry, just try and eat filling meals and snacks. The nutritionist will explain it more. Good luck!
@littleonemorning thank you I need to get used to this I just got it yesterday and it's all new to me
@verguinia, you just have to do it. If you have it with you, just carry a small container, I usually use the ones that my strips come in and put the used needle in there. If you have to, excuse yourself to the bathroom. It should take more than a couple minutes to do it. But you have a two hour window that they usually want you to check your blood sugar. If you are going to be home before than, then you can check it there. If you know you are going to be out all day, I would bring the glucose meter with you.
@littleonemorning I'm waiting for the nutritionist as we speak but my question is how do you manage checking your blood sugar while out and about I ate at around 9:30 and I'm still here waiting for my appointment should I have taken that machine thingy with me and if so how do I do all that finger blood thing in public :(
what do you have questions about? Your doctor should have set you up with a nutritionist to walk you through what you can and can’t eat as well as target blood sugar levels.
It’s a lot of protein and veggies, less processed junk and less carbs.
@melissamichele05 ok I will start carting it with me
