NEED ADVICE! My daughter is dealing with her first ear infection. I noticed she was very fussy and clingy to me on Monday and a fever at 103 during the night. I took her to the pediatrician on Tuesday and he said she had an ear infection in her right ear. He prescribed amoxicillin and started it that night. She has now been holding her ears today (Thursday) when she wasn’t before. She throws a fit over the medicine. Screams and cries till she basically pukes it up. She seems to be getting worse! Also having diarrhea. What can I do? Are there other medicines? I’m calling him in the morning but just want to help her feel better! She will hardly drink or eat anything at all. She is still breastfeeding so nursing some but doesn’t seem happy with anything. She is now scared of Tylenol which she wasn’t before. I would appreciate any help. ❤️

My son just got out of an ear infection. On tuesday last week he started with fever, being fussy and not eating, and having a hard time sleeping..he also had cold symptoms so i thought it was a cold. By Thurdays i knew it was more than a cold because he was having a hardtime sleeping no matter what and saw him pulling on his ear. So took him to his pediatrician and he did had an ear infection on his right ear. He was prescribed amoxicillin ans of course, he didnt liked it and would spit it out everytime i squeezed some in his mouth. So what i did was : i sat him in my lap, looked for a youtube video that really got his attention while holding both hands with one arm and the antibiotics on the other hand, and i squeezed some in his mouth and explained not to spit it out in a firm tone like i was mad lol (hes only 20 months old and dont understands everything yet but he doesnt like it when im upset with him so he didn't spit it out but didnt wanted to take the rest and would move and push away...but the 2nd time i squeezed some more i made it look like i had just won the lottery and hugged and kissed him very happy while clapping for him and asked my older kids to do this too...he loved the attention and took the rest little by little.i also had a sippy cup ready with his favorite juice ao he could take sips in between. I did this everytime he took it and He now takes it without any issues. Just a few more days and we will be done with the antibiotics. Or Try doing something that distracts your daughter, like hold her and squeeze a small amount and right after it start singing to her, try making funny faces or making her laugh, or doing something she really likes....i know its a struggle to make them take medicine at this stage but amoxicillin is one of the best to fight this kind of bacteria...by day 2 my son was back to sleeping like before and then little by little he was back to being himself
