Food for thought:
Menstrual cycles are important for a woman’s health. If you aren’t having one (unless you are pregnant), your body is not cleansing itself and you can be prone to having reproductive and possibly other health issues. I hate that all the man made birth control methods stops this natural process. I hear people say all the time that they “haven’t had a cycle in 3 years.... “ and how happy they are... If this works for you then so be it. I advise you to take control of your health and learn about it instead of depending on a western medical doctor’s opinion who endorse these unhealthy practices for a pay check.

Ive used birth control for 7 years and I don’t have any reproductive/health issues and just had a healthy baby 2 months ago when I decided I wanted one. I haven’t had my period the whole time. Everybodys body reacts differently
@theinkedmommy, Yes, I did too when I used them years ago but the side effects that you can’t see is the worst. But you gotta do what you gotta do.
@ecahanes, I understand. It’s kinda like one of very few options we have as women.
I'd rather have a period than not. That's means my body is doing what it's supposed to do. I'm on the pill so I have a period every month. I hate when I see ppl bragging about not having a period. Like you said it can be the cause of health issues or cause health issues.
@brianne I gained a ton of weight on it too and tried so hard to lose it but it was hard and then got pregnant so now I've got to try extra hard once baby is born.
Omg I say this all the time, I HATE when people talk about not having periods and they’re so happy about it, like good luck with your shots, implants, and iuds that shit all sounds sketchy as hell, not to mention the countless times it’s backfired on people.
I used to not use anything but I'm way too fertile and don't know if I want anymore kids right now so I use hormone free paraguard but it still messes with my period. 😕
@kj713love, I had that too! I can’t even tell you how my period was cause I was too wrapped up in gaining over 100 pounds and being suicidal. 💔 that thing was HORRIBLE and I still got pregnant on it and ended up losing the baby.
I basically failed out of school from the 7th grade on, and I don’t understand how the body works sometimes. But even I’m uncomfortable with not having a period. I’m uncomfortable with any birth control cause of what it does to me on so many levels. Including mentally. I got my tubes tied and I can use condoms if I ever feel the need to go the extra mile. I don’t want anymore kids, but I’d rather have another than go through the hell of birth control again. ✌🏼
I'm probably one of very few women that would rather have a cycle then not. I had tried nexplanon and hated it because I never knew when my cycle would come when it did it lasted abnormally long and I never felt right. When I'm not on any birth control I'm super regular almost to the hour and I know when it's coming and when it will be over. To me that always felt more natural and healthy.
@emmy.slocum1997, I agree with you but that’s not the point I’m trying to make. My experience is similar to yours. Used birth control, stopped, had a healthy pregnancy and baby, no reproductive or health issues. I no longer use birth control. This post was to alert people of the hazards of not having a cycle monthly (in case they didn’t know) and for them to look into doing their own research to educate themselves.
