So what's a good routine that y'all have done for your newborn babies? A good schedule??

My question also was my fiancee gets off work late, at 8 so if I send her to bed before or earlier he wouldn't be able to spend time with her during the week. Is 10 to late for a newborn. I know it kinda is but the moment my fiancee gets home he can get her ready for bed. And spend that time with her that way. I mean what do y'all do when your hubby works all the time but comes home late. Lol

My husband works over night so he gets home in the am. Henny gets up around the same time my husband gets home so they make breakfast together. Time is just as important as sleep so what schedule fits for your family is best.

I have daycare experience with children during the day but that's about it. Nothing for at night 24/7 care. Ibe been doing a lot of research and when it comes to the feedings if your baby goes past the 2 or three hour mark sleeping at night, their fine. Don't wake them up! I guess that goes back to the whole them calling the shots thing. Lol

@jane.austen64, don’t stress girl! Especially the first couple of weeks, all you’ll feel like doing is passing out as soon as she does 😂

@morgan.elizabeth2018 awesome that sounds amazing! Definitely will look out for that! Sleeping routines are the most I get confused on. Lol

@jane.austen64 I never did a feeding schedule either I just fed my daughter when she's hungry. If she wasn't hungry but fussy she pushed the bottle out so I knew it wasn't that and I'd try something else.

The only thing that I really try to consciously be aware of when it comes to my baby sleeping, is not holding her until she falls asleep so she doesn’t get dependent on that to fall asleep. I hold her until I can see her eyes getting heavy and then I put her in her crib to fall asleep on her own. Other than that, she calls the shots!

@jane.austen64, you don’t really need to worry about a schedule for the first couple of months at least, all they do is sleep. Once they start to “wake up” more then just do what works for you while keeping in mind that the baby will do what she wants. If she wants to sleep she’s going to and trying to keep her awake so she’ll sleep later can make her fight sleep from being overtired. They’re pretty good at setting their own routine as far as sleep as long as they don’t get their days and nights confused

@jane.austen64, the more you fight it the more you will stress yourself out. Some moms can put their newborn on a schedule but it’s a lot of consistency that I don’t have. Lol the older they get you can figure out what works best for your family.

@jane.austen64 they're not up for very long when they're newborns they wake to eat and may stay up a little while but they sleep most of the time. I would say after a few months start a routine for bedtime like maybe a bath to calm her. When she was a few months old I bought her a little hippo that played night time songs and had lights that shine on the ceiling I'd put it on in her crib on low after her bottle and shed fall asleep.

I went through this and i did a 10 pm bed time and boy do i regret it lol if i accidently broke routine she was up all night. Eventually i had to do a "reset". Have her in bed by 8 , she would be up to feed by 9:30 so i would let him feed her cuddle her and get some time. Even though she was sleep throughout most of their time she bonded so well with him. Moved bed time back to 10 once she hit 10 months so he could have more time and she sleeps through the night now. Only thing is now shes gotten so attached that she has to sleep by him for atleast half the night, now i can't sleep cuz im being pushed off the bed by 2 busy sleepers lol

As a newborn I let my son do whatever he wanted and he made his own schedule. Now at almost 5 months old he goes to bed at 10 and doesn’t wake up till 7 or 8

@morgan.elizabeth2018 @preciouslove so most newborns have their own routine?! Lol when do parents actually start setting a routine. Lol I'm just confused on when people say keep a routine lol

My son is 2 and is barely on a schedule. My husband used to work nights and my son didn’t go to sleep until he left the house and that was around 10pm. The baby is probably make their own schedule. I just try to go with the flow.

Mine isn't home till 2am, he works 10 hour days. Most newborns make their own schedules LOL the baby will sleep most of the time hun. When she's a little older you can just put her on whatever schedule works for you. Me and my husband both work nights (when im working) so our daughter usually goes to bed late so she wakes up late with us so we can sleep in.

On bath nights I usually bathe her around 7 though, then she takes a bottle and is out like a light.

I may be judged for what I’m about to say but oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t try to schedule her. I’m letting her work out her own schedule and she always falls asleep around 7, then wakes up for a bottle around 11-12, then usually sleeps until 4-5. But especially when she was under a month old all she did was eat and go right back to sleep 24/7 basically
